Are The Jazz A Free Agency Winner?

The Jazz are certainly building a smart way... The Spurs and OKC didn't sign a significant free agent or make a starter-level trade until they were at the cusp of the title or a deep playoff run. Utah should go with the team they have built and see how far this team can get before bringing in that big-money piece. Based on the last 1/3 of the season, Utah should get to the playoffs and maybe even a second round appearance. Go Jazz!

I'd say for the playoffs Utah is gonna be fighting for 7-8 seed realistically, maybe the 6th seed.
West is crazy stacked, GS, SA, OKC, Clips, Rockets, Mem should be locks for the playoffs. Dallas, Minny, NO, Utah, Phoenix and maybe even Portland will be fighting for those last two spots.
The key is that Utah will be a top level defensive team, which will win us close games and keep us in the hunt. AND if we make the playoffs we could pose a matchup problem with our stifling defense.

Either way I can't wait for next season, the last half of this season was the most excited I've been over the Jazz in a long time

I'm going to temper expectations on the Mavs for right now. Last year with a lineup of Rondo, Ellis, Parsons, Dirk, and Chandler should have been a top-4 or top-5 team in the West.

They were a top 4 team in the West until they traded for Rondo.... He kind of ****ed everything up.

Part of it was the fact that they decimated their bench by sending 3 solid rotation pieces to Boston.

Are the Jazz losers in free agency? No. They haven't made any bad acquisitions that will hurt them down the road.

Are they winners in free agency? No. Not unless or until they sign a player that helps to improve the roster for the future. Sitting out isn't winning. . . it's not necessarily wrong, but I prefer when the team is aggressive in the draft and offseason.

Trevor Booker was a plus signing last year. Let's wait to see if the Jazz have a similar transaction coming yet this offseason. Keeping Jingles at an affordable cost and adding a Booker level mid-tier player for the bench would be a win in my book. Not flashy. Not sexy. But solid and with an eye towards the future. Overspending on role players will kill this team in the future.

Looks like they're planning to cash in their Euro assets, fill out the bench, bake the cake and maybe make a trade down the road if a worthwhile player comes available.

I don't want to go any further. This post is so bad.

In the Locks you include Dallas but the NBA champion GS Warriors are omitted? To make things worse, they are not included on either list.

Here is my list:

1.SA
2. GSW
3.OKC
4.Houston
5.Memphis

Fighting for 6-8 seeds:
Dallas
Clippers
Suns
Pelicans
Jazz

I believe if you compared the starting 5 of the Jazz to the Pelicans and Suns you'll see that the Jazz have a better starting 5.

If you look at depth you'll see that the Jazz potentially have the most depth from any of those 5 teams.

Yes, the Jazz are a big winner from this FA period.

Really? Jordan is a beast. If Matthews has a slow recovery prob not though.
Who plays PG for them? One of their strengths last year was depth. They don't have that now.

I also believe that Chandler is a better rim protecting C than DAJ. Goo look at the numbers. They might surprise you.

Also the Mavs got DAJ because they promised to. Make him more of a focal point of the offense. Does DAJ have any good back to the basket moves? What about a 15 ft jump shot? I think the move is a bit overrated right now.

Losing DeAndre is huge but they're still too talented to not at least make the playoffs baring injury to Paul or Blake but not even close to title contenders.........the West is pathetically stacked

CP3 is going to join the exclusive club that nobody wants to belong to of superstars who never won a title. Only, CP3 will be one of the few members of this club who never even reached a conference final.
