Are The Jazz Repeating The Jefferson/Love Experiment With Jefferson/Millsap?

"Timberwolves' Kahn said Minnesota has never regretted decision to trade Jefferson to Jazz and keep Love."

"Timberwolves' Kahn spoke highly of Jazz's Jefferson, though, adding that he's a good guy with a big heart."

"Timberwolves' Kahn said primary reason in trading Jefferson was that he and Love were not compatible together or practical option on defense"

Interesting that Jazz now face same issue with Jefferson and Millsap, in that both are undersized for their position.

Jazz coaches, players said Jefferson has made strides on defensive end, though.

Jazz GM O'Connor after being asked to evaluate Jefferson's season with Utah: “Where would we be without him? Maybe that answers it all.”

"Jefferson acknowledged that he still has a "long ways to go," and must improve pick-and-roll and interior defense."

"Jazz's Jefferson remains in team's long terms plans and Sloan said he hopes it stays that way."

"But unless Utah acquires a legit starting 7-foot center in the future, Jazz's rebounding issues and size disadvantage are not going away."

"Jazz's Millsap said that Jefferson has made progress but must improve his floor spacing and understanding of where to be in Utah's offense."

Maybe repeating the Boozer/Millsap combo?

If so, why do they both need to start? Millsap has always owned coming off the bench. We really should go back to what we did in the playoffs, by starting Fess and bringing Millsap in for starters minutes.

If Fes were more consistant, this would be a great idea. With that said, if Fes were to consistantly start, he just might become more serious about basketball and overcome some of his mental lapses. No question he'd help us defensively; just his size in the paint is imposing to opponents.

Yes it has been close to a disaster actually. WE ARE THE WORST 1st QUARTER TEAM IN THE LEAGUE. Bell has to take some of the slack but he is only making 3 million dollars a year.

Bell's contract is only loosely associated with our first-quarter woes. You should be bitching about the MINUTES he's getting.

Couldn't agree more. + bench bell and start CJ.

Yep, the Jazz are indeed repeating the Jefferson/Love experiment. And with the inferior Jefferson/Millsap frontcourt at that.

OP, I think you're right. I bet Jazz have been shopping Millsap and are waiting for the right offer. The guy stands for all that is good in basketball, but it's time for him to go. It's a business decision.

It would work if Fes' foul rate was less than 9 per 20 minutes. I'd love to see him start but the guy can't stay on the floor for extended periods of time.
