So you are creating a scenario that we have one shot that either gets us into the playoffs or miss and in the lottery? I probably cheer for the make, because the lottery chances are extremely unlikely in that scenario.
How did Dallas get Flagg again?

Could they have gotten him by being in the playoffs?
No, I guess Jazz could give away walker and Lauri to the Lakers and maybe get the 1st. But what's the point then. We would then need to get more high picks to build a team around a guy who might be good. Getting a 1st is extremely unlikely in every scenario. That player actually being good is also a gamble.

I would rather see our guys become great and start winning than hoping for a gamble in the lottery to pay off. But best case is being around 30-40 win team who has young players who look amazing and winning the lottery. It's just extremely unlikely, especially for the Jazz.

I'll have to catch a game with you this year and whoever else is in Thailand.

The top of next year’s draft looks so good - I want one more top 5 pick.

Come next season though it’s all gas no brakes. Let the boys play.

Oh are you coming for a visit? Yes definitely! Give me a PM when you’re coming over!

What if it’s at the expense of getting AJ?
you mean like we got Flagg? The NBA has a whole draft lottery ruleset to make tanking for number one 50/50 at best. we've walked that path and fortunately came out of it with potentially a great player but not the number one. We have good talent evaluators, let's outsmart the nba by having better evaluators and better development rather then relying on their pity by pretending to be a cripple looking for a handout. i just realized that this is what i hate about tanking. being the whiny ***** who sits at the grocery store asking for handouts when he's actually perfectly capable of working if he tries.

Anyone still feel we could use a winning culture over the draft pick at this point?

Considering how few of our high draft picks(and high draft picks in general for the NBA) have been transformative for us I'd rather enjoy a season with a lot of wins and a playoff run than pin all my hopes on one player. If guys like Ace, Flip, Collier, Clayton, Brice and Taylor can all improve and we end up being a much better team this year I'd take that over drafting odds. What if we get another Dante or Derrick or Enes Freedom? Yeah I'd take all of our guys improving to the point we make the playoffs than that.

BTW, Enes is planning to run for Congress in 2028 when he becomes eligible as a 7-year U.S. citizen.

Yeah but top 4 this draft could all be better than Flagg…
