Avery Bradley traded to Detroit -- a warning for Jordan Heywood

... I wonder how the Celtics locker room will feel about losing Bradley. Crowder is already pissed. How many other Celtics players will be resentful of the GH signing? Rivers took heat for signing his son. Will Stevens take heat for signing his little brother?

So, do they still need to shed salary or not. I'm confused about this because people are saying that now they no longer need to do that?

They don't need to shed salary. But if Jordan Heywood wasn't an idiot and wanted to maximize his dollars he would do as Chris Paul did and ask for a S&T to ensure he got top dollar for his corn shucking abilities. So they can afford Jordan Heywood at his current price I believe, but if it was a S&T they would still need to unload some assets. I think. Don't quote me on that.

Seems unlikely Ainge would throw out the 4 years of foreplay that he has been performing on Haywood's ladyparts and put him on the scrap heap. Especially since it's a menage with the coach as well, but yeah man. Ainge is craven. Ainge might be one of those really really nice mean people. Like can only be super nice because they are really mean. I've found it's pretty common among Mormons. Just saying. And I'm part of the tribe, so I think I can speak from experience. Anyways, sure it would be funny to see Haywood languishing on the Nets or the Magic or whatever, but it's probably not going to happen. More likely would be some scrap between Haywood and Crowder. But that's probably not going to happen either.

We should all probably prepare for a Celtics championship.

So the subtraction of Bradley, Kelly O. and (possibly) Jae Crowder or Smart and the addition of Wayward = EC Championship?

Highly unlikely.

Sounds like they'll go down in 5 again if they get there.

I think the team they got now can take them to at least 6. The Gilbert turmoil could have on-court repercussions.

Stevens didn't sign his little brother... Stevens signed his pasty lover. I feel like Danny Ainge is kind of screwing the pooch in the eyes of Celtics fans this off season. I don't think the fans were happy about trading back in the draft. I don't think they were happy to lose Bradley. I don't think they were happy to lose Olynyk the t-rex arms guy. I feel like Danny Ainge made 3 negative movies in order to add one Jordan Heywood, who is a FAKE superstar that will not make the Celtics able to beat the Cavs in a playoff series.

It seems that way, but if DL really wants Crowder he is available for some assets. But we don't want to give assets to that SNAKE OIL SALESMAN.

Not unless they are protected or second rounders, and I don't see Ainge doing that. I really do think Crowder would be a good addition at the right price, but my gut feeling is it doesn't happen.

Who knows maybe Frank Jackson becomes a super-star and Utah can steal him from a team one day and have all their fans cry foul-play and unfairness as we laugh at their demands to give them a S&T.

I don't think they take them to 6. No way no how. Isiah Thomas is already have HIP issues... his speed is his M-O and he will be losing it. Then you lost a lock down defender in Bradley, a stretch backup C in t-rex arms. I just don't think the Celts made a positive change this offseason. It is awesome.

I really like Crowder. I would actually be willing to give up some assets for him because I do think he fits the culture of this Jazz team and would take the sting of Heywood leaving away.

The problem is the Jazz dont have many assets that make sense. You aren't giving up picks in a conference where you could possibly finish in the bottom 3 of if one bad injury happens.

You also probably arent giving up any of the young guys because that is what makes the fans still have hope in this team.

I am surprised he doesn't want the 5th year. Because this is the only contract he will have with the Celts and if he wants to spoon with Brad Stevens as long as possible, he should go for a 5 year contract. Maybe him and Brad Stevens have this little dream that they will be, like, two princes who are on the same team and when Danny Ainge throws them both on the scrap heap they can go to Indiana and be hometown heroes or something stupid.

Pretty sure the 5th year has now been eliminated through Sign and Trades. It's only available to players who remain with their teams.

Agree. There's a good chance all WC playoff teams win 50 games. That's happened a few times in recent history. The Jazz could win 45 and miss. Then Silver needs to do a solid like what happened with Cleveland a few times and have Utah win the lottery.
