Bed Bugs: A Nightmare

I bought a jacket from China a few months back and due to this, I got Bed Bugs. A lot of people do not know that bed bugs are actually real and a pain to get rid of. In the 1940's we started using pestisides that killed many of them and they kind of dissapeared for a while. However, these pesticides were harmful to people as well. We don't sude them anymore, and this has contributed to the growing problem of bed bugs. In just the last year, bed bug infestations has gone up 75%! you have to be careful. These little blood sucking ******** are likely hard to get rid of. The female's lay up to 5 eggs a day and they only come out at night, usually around 4-6 in the morning when you are in your deepest sleep. the Know where you are because they can sense the carbon Dioxide in your breath and that leads them to you. they also have atenna's that let them know where the warmest place to suck your blood is. Also, they are tiny and they can hide in just about everything. Usually, they nest in your box spring. I had to throw mine away today along with a ton of other things. It sucked. I also had to dry pretty much every article of clothing i have for 20 mintutes on high heat and then put them inside 10 gallon ziploc bags. Also, my room will be getting sprayed tomorrow. What sucks is that i live at my uncles and his house is huge. If they spread throughout the entire house, it will cost 2000 dollars to have a pest control come in to rectify it.

Interestingly enough, my uncle talked to a guy that works for the department of agriculture today. This guy told my uncle that he could get in trouble for saying this but that the best way to get rid of bed bugs, or atlest keep them away from your boxspring, is to put a flea collar around all the legs of your bed (It is also important to pull your bed away from the Wall and not let your sheets touch the ground.) this will kill them. I have looked all over the internet and did not find this anywhere. Nice to know and if you ever have to terrible experience of baed bugs, I hope this is helpful to you. Honeslty sucks. Be careful when you go to hotels, and airports. This is how people usually get them. My brother had to take all the bos springs out of a hotel in central utah recently because the whole place was infested. another thing to remember is that if you live in an apartment unit thingy, and one of your neighbors gets bed bugs, you'll likely get them too if nothing is done about it or if it is not taken care of quickly. It's pretty much hell. One way you can know if you have them is they go to the bathroom on sheets, mattresses and walls. These things leave little black marks. it looks just like someone took a sharpie and dotted your bed or wall with it. My word of Advice: Don't use China air and don't buy anything from China.

Wasn't sure which one to go with:

Holy bedbugs, Batman!
Holy bloodsuckers, Batman!
Holy Chinese plague, Batman!
Holy cheap ***, Batman! (because you bought your Members Only jacket from a Chinese rip off factory to save a few bucks)
Holy infested box springs, Batman!
Holy DDT ban, Batman!

Take your pick...

mines too heavy. Can't stand up

Oh wait.. this seems like potentially inappropriate content..
For the record, Colton, I was referring to where I carefully place pesticides on ashelf... thoughtfully out of reach of young children..

I apologize for any misunderstanding and am in no way condoning scootsy's insinuations/innuendo.

Weird.. mine normally stands above the belt.
No one wants to hear about your muffin top, PKM.

Batman, I feel for ya. When I served my mission in Brasil, I would wake up, turn on the lights, and the wall would move...hundreds of little black bugs. And my back would be a little bloody from all the bites. I was so happy when I was finally transferred from that area. Appreciate the advice about flea collars. I know bed bugs can be a problem if you travel a lot. Even the higher-end hotels are having problems. On an interesting note, I read that one solution being investigated is to actually make surfaces so slippery that bed bugs won't be able to hang on. I'm assuming this would be the legs of the bed, springs, etc. that would be coated with a substance. I guess it's because there are no pesticides that are 100% effective.

Funny fact about bed bugs: They use so called "traumatic insemination" - male pierces females abdomen and deposits sperm there. Not unusual for female to get killed if male hits at the wrong spot. Other funny fact is that male bed bugs have evolved chemoreceptors on their *******. After impaling a female, the male can "taste" if a female has been recently mated. If he does, he will not copulate as long and will ejaculate less fluid into the female.

I unknowingly transferred them from my apartment to my townhouse. They suck. It took $400 to get rid of them which required 3 separate sprays. I haven't seen one in two years now so I think they're finally gone. Even to this day when I'm barefoot in my house I'll feel like there is something crawling on my feet every now and then, even though it's nothing. I feel your pain.
