I love a Russian Imperial Stout. Any time I see one on the menu, I'm down. Unfortunately, living in the PNW, it's all IPAs as far as the eye can see. Like, these place have 12 different varieties of IPA and the darkest thing on the menu is a red - I like a red, but, come on...
I see the same thing here. Usually I’d say the average bar has about 15 beers on tap. You’ll have the typical 3-4 that can be found in most bars, and a dozen others, most of which are ipa’s.
I’m a Stout/Porter guy. Guiness sucks imo. Sort of big time. Very water. I like a heavier beer.

Its definitely, Porter/Stout time of year here, my old local poured a decent Guinness, its supposed to be re-opening in the next few weeks, I went past Tuesday and it looks a while off re-opening.
Typically I drink Ale, Stone and Wood, which is available on tap in most pubs, failing that its a Balter XPA or whatever other Ale i can find.
I hate lager and really only suffer a draught beer if i have no other choice.
All this talk about beer, all I hear is "I like a good dark pee, but all I can find around here is piss, and light piss at that. Some places have decent urine on tap but I only drink dark pee." Because, clearly, all beer tastes like piss. Kid yourselves all you want but if you removed the alcohol and kept the flavor profile exactly the same, no one would choose to drink pis...uh beer. But hey, to each their own. Enjoy your piss! May it ever be dark and chunky, or whatever!
