According to our man downunder he had a bit of a rep for being up himself growing up so it wouldn't surprise me that he's a bit of a rich kid douchebag. But as Aussies he's our douchebag so we'll put up with it.

I'm really torn about this, i want Donovan to get his acknowledgement but it will also be huge for basketball in our country if Ben wins it.

C'mon Rub. You and I both know that Ingles is a total ****** when on the court. He is the definition of trash talking. That is how Aussies are though. Rough and dirty in the battle - meek and mild off the court. Simmons is more brash - like my perception of many elite US athletes, but like them - keeps it ice cool on the court.

Aussies always on the top list of dirtiest players in the league. Bogut,Delly is way dirty. That's how most here in the states view Aussies bball.

To his credit, that's the personality of Philadelphia sports. Dr. J, Moses Malone, Charles Barkley, Allen Iverson. Not like any of these dudes where known for being modest.

Dr J had a similar demeanor to Donovan. Swagger but not at all arrogant.

Yeah we know. Over the years we have viewed many US players as 'soft' and 'entitled' and 'whingers'.
Delly is seen by most Aussies as 'tough' and 'scrappy'. Bogut 'shrewd' etc
Sometimes it is the eye of the beholder.

I wonder what happens when the Cavs put Lebron at the five. Can Embiid really cover him?
Philly will one day (soon?) see lineups where Simmons guarding the 5 might be their best option.

Simmons has the highest ceiling of any player in the league imo. He is a top 20 player without a jump shot. And there is strong reason to believe he is developing one. He has taken a number of midrange shots since the AS break with mixed success.

He literally can guard 1-5.

Simmons> Embiid.

In fact, offensively, Simmons without Embiid is perhaps better for the sixers as it forces him to take more ownership and they run teams out of the building. Embiid's role could easily be replaced by Fultz who is able to get his own shot. Defense is where they miss him most.

We will see.

But remember, I am totally biased. I'm hoping Ben leads us Aussies to a medal in the next Olympics

Yep, and thats why its hard to take any of your opinions of any aussie players serious. Its a little ridiculous to claim Simmons has a higher ceiling than Embiid. It is straight up bat **** crazy to argue that Simmons is better than Embiid already. But both of you think Simmons is going to be better than Lebron so I guess ill just take your posts on this subject with humor. Probably the same as both of you take real Jazz fans opinions on Jazz players

Its unbelievable they have a guy like him on to act as though hes some sports expert. Its a horrible bubble some people live in. Stephan A., someone who I usually watch for his outlandish nature, came right to the defense in this video. Ice Cube looked like a complete fool, as he is.
