Katie, you have absolutely terrible taste in music.
That means nothing to me coming from you. I would say the same thing about your taste in music. Isn't it great that people are so different?

IAWTP x A Million!!! Lady Gaga is incredibly smart, and knows exactly what she's doing. She is so inspirational to me. I am so happy that I get to see her live in 1 month. It's going to be an amazing night, which I'm sure I'll never forget.
Okay, I'll bite. How in the hell is Lady Gaga inspirational to you? Seriously.
Regarding her music, I get it. And I like her previous work. I also totally see the Kaufman comparison too. But her new song that's played on the radio blows. It's really that simple to me. The same beat (ripped off from Material Girl if I remember correctly) loops over and over and over and over. I know plenty of sings do this but she takes it to another degree without any catchy **** to break the monotony.
You seriously have to ask?? Have you actually listened to or read the lyrics for "Born This Way"? I had one of the lines in an image on my signature here for quite a few months. The song is an outcast anthem. I'm pretty sure her performance of "Born This Way" on the Grammy Awards was the first performance ever of a song that specifically mentions transgender people. The message in that song alone is enough to be inspirational to me. Even before this song, she has been outspoken on LGBT rights. She is using her celebrity to push for equal rights. She is all about people being free to be themselves, whoever they are. <sarcasm>Hmm...how could I possibly be inspired by all that?</sarcasm>
Yes, I did seriously have to ask. Otherwise, I wouldn't have asked. Sorry but I don't keep Lady Gaga on repeat on my I-pod or CD player, and prance around, singing the lyrics like some 13 year old girl spouting out her favorite Julie Andrews bit from The Sound of Music.
That said, yes, it does make sense now.
Regarding the song that's on the radio currently, I have no idea if this is the song you're referring to but if it is, the "inspiring" lyrics don't save it for me. It's monotonous and lame as hell.
"Born This Way" is making history: Link.
Being the answer to a trivial pursuit question, isn't exactly "making history".
And how is "Born This Way" inspirational to the cause of homosexuals? It's an absolutely ridiculous song, that has nothing to do with anything. I understand that the words "Born This Way" are appealing to the LGBT cause, but that's about the extent of the song's worth.

Yet again I have to ask, have you even read/heard ALL of the lyrics? I already posted a link with the full lyrics in this thread. It's not only about homosexuals. The message of the song is empowering ALL people to be proud of who they are, and realize they were...wait for it....BORN THIS WAY! I really don't understand how it is so hard to not get the message.
It's pretty sad that a 10 year old girl gets it more than the people who continue to question it.
