What's new

Best thing about tonight?

Oh yeah. That's right. Kirilenko hasn't played in so long that I have pretty much forgotten that he is even on the team. I would be open to re-signing him at the right price, however. By right price, I mean way less than right now.

In my opinion, its the number one reason the Jazz couldn't contend for a title. If Kirilenko was getting paid what he was worth, the Jazz could have brought in a $10 million big man, or $10 million dollar 2 guard... and we would have taken it to the Lakers.

Amen to that, man.

AK will be offered something out of courtesy, but it won't be enough to keep him. It doesn't really make sense to sign a 30+ year old players, those free agents tend to go to contending teams in win now mode.

I used to want to re-sign him. But with this current roster, It's time to clear out all of the older players and begin the rebuild for real.

Hayward
Favors
Jefferson
Evans
Harris
Millsap
CJ
2 1st round picks

That is 9 players.

Memo (untradeable) unless he retires
Weaver
Watson (If he will come back)
Fess (re-signed on the cheap)

Makes 13. A good young core of player's with Memo on his way out, making room for next years picks. One more 2 year cheap deal for Fess. Try and sign Weaver to a cheap deal. And maybe find a replacement for Watson, unless he can be convinced to return.

That is how I see our off-season happening.

Raja is under contract for next year. The Jazz need to either buy him out or trade him if they don't want him on the roster next year. I think they will resign CJ, but I think this is his last chance to be all that he can be. Even for cheap, I don't think Fes is coming back.

Amen. Unfortunately I see the Jazz offering 3 years, 20M thinking it's a good deal while we have to endure three more years of his nonsense.

I think they are going to let him shop around and see what he gets. Yes I know he is an unrestricted free agent but they did the same thing with Boozer. I hope they would do the same thing, which is the right thing, to let him go. How expensive his contract was hardly was the main problem. It is the way he goes in and out of the lineup, and the fact that the coach will HAVE to find him minutes just because of his seniority on the team. For that same logic, I hope Bell will be gone too via a trade.

Here is some hope for us at the 3 spot even if we can't get someone good in the draft:

RT @tribjazz Jazz's Evans said adding mid-range shot is more likely than putting on muscle weight. Will try and slide down to small forward next year.

Evans is really a bright young kid. I think he is aware that with Jefferson, Favors, Millsap and Okur possibly coming back, his future with the team is at the 3 spot where he will have more size advantages over mostly every backup 3 in the league.

I just can't believe my ears when KOC said in an interview today "We've said it to Andre and his agent - We want Andre back" ..

..just simply can't believe my ears..

Andre is a nice guy, he hustles, he's a solid player and plays hard when motivated, but I seriously cannot take any more injuries from him. His injuries are just going to dampen Jazz's progress in the rebuilding stage and surely KOC can see that.
