Best trade idea yet

I think Shelvin to Cleveland is going to happen regardless unless there's a better offer at the last second, but I would love to see Jones brought in for whatever the Cavs want to give us for Mack.
 
I'm not able to watch as much as I used to but last time I saw T.Jones playing he was fairly non-existent.

He is averging 25 mpg on a ****ty team that needed anyone else besides Anthony Davis to step up adn be consistent. He has nearly the same PER as Derrick Favors, the dude everyone here is lamenting the death of.

He is a terrible shooter and he once kicked a homeless man in the head. His "heck of a season" is literally nearly the same as a hobbled Derrick Favors.

I don't think anybody is criticizing Favors when he's on the court. Even hobbled he's a pretty special player. Jones has three point range. He costs us nothing - only the use of a player that doesn't see the court anymore. He's insurance. I've met some homeless I'd just as soon kick in the head (can be annoying). Really? That's the best you can come up with?

Jones is a career 30% 3pt shooter and 25% this year....

Hobbled Favors is not special, and neither is Jones and his 3pt range at 25%.
 
I'd say do this to give Favors a chance to get more rest. Jones isn't going to hurt us anymore than half-dead Derrick is at this point.
 
Terrence Jones isn't a 3pt shooter he's an above average athlete at the PF spot, which this team has lacked all season. since the loss of Booker/Favors lost his hops..


Getting him for Mack straight up would be highway robbery.
 
I dont think he is going to add that much but I think it is worth trying if we are just dumping Mack, which we are going to do either way. I would give Jones a chance here. If anything he provides a little more depth and options for the coach. I am not sure I really think he is that much better than Lyles and is definitely a worse 3 point shooter though. Maybe we just need to keep leaning on Lyles until he gets better. Although if this lets us rest Favors and get him a little healthier for the playoffs that alone will be worth it. Jones is an UFA next season so if he plays well for us we will probably lose him next season due to driving up his price and our team having lots of other higher concern signings.

He's a rental that's probably true. But there's also the chance we trade Favors for a pick and then we need him. People are forgetting that we can waive Diaw after this season and not have to pay him a dime (nonguaranteed). Give him Diaw money or less (probably less) and we still have plenty of cap room.
