Big Al Working Hard

I recognize that it took awhile for Al to fit in on the court, the offense tended to stop when the ball was pased to him. I do wonder though how much of that though (?) was the offense not being executed correctly? I wonder how much of that was due to the issues off the court that lead to Sloan retiring and Deron being traded?

I don't think "Diana" understands the point that she's making here.

And of the things that are easiest to blow smoke about, "working out hard" is really high on the list for someone that's not clearly in terrible shape. We hear this every offseason about almost every player. In fact, we heard it a lot last year about Jefferson as well.

This is going to be a long stoppage of hoops and it's mind-numbing. So I like anything that crops up that we can all chew on, but only results will tell us anything about what he's doing right now. Particularly how he plays and produces in transition.

Thanks for correcting my grammar. I wrote the quick post late at night last night, so I appreciate it, I corrected it on my post. The only point I was trying to make was maybe there were other reasons that Al didn't pass when he received the ball, besides being a black hole.

I agree that all players say and it is reported by others that they are working hard. We have heard a lot about Al this off season and his workouts at P3. I was just happy to see a video of it and thought other Jazz fans would like to see it too. I added a quick commentary on Al since we haven't had any news in a long time and I wanted to write something happy.

Big Al knows he needs to work hard to keep his spot in the rotation. His urge to survive on our team is no more selfish than those players wanting their moolah. But the main concern I've always had with Big Al is how he's keeping his spirits up. Naturally this team is going to bring him down. Nobody let him have six feet of rope ala Andy Dufraine.

Like it or not, Big Al will be the first option of the team this upcoming season when/if the lockout ends so it is great for us fans to know he is working out hard.

Its unlikley that Kanter or Favors will ever be better then Jefferson get your head out of your butt hes the best player we got a guy that can dominate in the post and score at will. Their is more to be desired with his passing ability and defense but the guy seems dedicated to improving.
 
By the way, this is Favors working out at P3 and some comments from the P3 people:

Al Jefferson is a beast. He is one of the most dominant lowpost scorers in the game today and he seems to be legit in his desire to become a more well-rounded, team player. Why so many Jazz fans want to put him on the first plane out of town is another example of just how dumb Utah's fanbase is.
 
^^Well said Jazzman. People are in love with the new thing and the new thing is Favors and Kanter. Thats why Im soo glad 90% of the people on here dont run the Jazz organization

That presumes everyone not satisfied with Al at the moment were happy when he came. I can't speak for everyone else besides myself and... well, I don't think I have to go there again.

Jefferson can score in the low post. He has a very diverse offensive game. He plays horrible, absolutely horrid pick-n-roll defense and his ability to move side to side leaves something to be desired. You can call those who wants Jefferson gone dumb but the writing is on the wall. It has been pointed out several times that Jefferson was traded to the Jazz for Kufos and a future first round pick. Boston gladly shipped him to the Timberwolves. If you cannot see the pattern here then I and no one else can help you.

Basketball is played on two ends of the floor. Offensive and defensive. He has a very capable offensive game but his defense is near the bottom of the league. Jest because he blocked a couple of shots does not mean that he plays great defense.
