Bookers option officially picked up

Love Booker. Really glad he's staying. He's a great tough guy on the court and seems like a great teammate/chemistry catalyst. Doesn't hurt that he likes it here so much. That's always a plus.

Its too bad. Hes good enough to be a 12th man and make an NBA roster. At least we know hes there if needed.

I think an NBA team will snatch him up if we let him go, but that said I think bringing Booker back is obviously much better for us. It will stink if we let Cooley go and Pleiss ends up being a stiff.

Fantastic. For too many years this team lacked a tough guy (actually Earl Watson was one but a bit too small...though I loved how he stood up to people). Actually I think Gobert is one too, but Booker is a guy who would have punched a dofus like Deltote West in the face if he pulled that wet willy crap in front of him.

I'm not a big fan of Booker but his contract is fair and well-deserved. Anyway I hope he won't be on the Jazz long-term plans.

I've been critical of him at times. He's not a good shooter. I doubt he's around after this season. Lyles will be the back up PF in 2016.

I'm not sure if I'd invest big money into him, but I'm glad he's back for this season and I hope he parlays two good years behind Favors into a big contract elsewhere (like Carroll did) next offseason.

Jazz are building a strong, deep bench unit. Pleiss, Lyles, Booker, Jingles, Burks/Hood, Millsap and Burke/Neto all have specific roles on the bench and will grow leaps and bounds under the coaching staff. DL and Snyder are building something special. So excited for the season to begin.

th Jazz are not investing in him. His option is a bit expensive, but thinking about the overall situation, the desire to see the team grow without committing money to new biggish contracts, well picking up the option for next year was the reasonable "stand pat" move. I have no doubt that he would be very available along Burke if something interesting came along. in the summer of 2016 either he becomes a vet min or close too or he is out of the picture.

A reasonable conservative move by the FO in the context of the "internal growth" they are gunning for next season.

There's no way Booker is a veteran minimum guy. He will get more on his next contract than what the Jazz have paid him for these past two years.

Thankfully, Lyles looks like a player. Hopefully he's ready to take a big step up in the rotation next year when Booker signs a nice contract somewhere else.
