What's new

boozer scored only 5 pts ??

Exactly, Boozer $14.4 mil, on the bench. Kurt Thomas $1.3 mil, on the floor. How dumb is chicago, a) not to know what a skunk Boozer is in the post season, and b) having your highest paid playeron the bench with the season on the line. No sympathy for the Bulls.

lol. I love reading through old Sloanfeld threads. What a troll.

BOW TO SLOANFAIL!

Boozer's effort tonight was similar to that given in game 6 in Utah in the 2008 playoffs against the Lakers. Anyone else remember that? We lost a tough one in LA in game 5. A few just terrible calls went against us. One time Lamar drove all the way from the 3 point line and got an AND 1 without Boozer even touching him. We all thought the jazz would win game 6 and force a game 7. Instead? We laid a humongus dump in Energy Solutions.

I remember a similar effort the next year in a close out game....

And last year? Meh, same crap, throughout most of the playoffs.

The dude just isn't a physical competitor. I don't think I've seen anyone so muscular yet so soft.

The Bulls would be set to play the Mavs right now had they signed Zach Randolf instead of Booz.

KOC , yeah he is a pretty smart dude.

Yep, spent only about 80 million bucks on Fragilenko for the last 5 years, which in a way contributed to not signing Boozer. A good example of one bad move (or non-move ) preventing another one from happening.

Great stuff from Michael Wilbon on ESPN this morning talking about the Bulls' flaws as they move foward:

But one has to wonder about Carlos Boozer and whether work will be the answer for him. His 1-for-6 shooting performance in Game 5 was pathetic. He recorded nearly as many personal fouls (four) as points (five). Players from other teams around the league privately ridiculed Boozer for being less effective than 38-year-old Kurt Thomas, who makes a fraction of what Boozer makes. The Miami players, while saying nothing privately, couldn't wait for the locker-room doors to close to congratulate Bosh (20 points, 10 rebounds, four blocked shots) for torching Boozer, who had the nerve to refuse to include Bosh in any discussion about Miami's talented trio ("big two," Boozer said repeatedly).

That 2008 series against the Lakers hurt. I still think about that game. I probably have homer glasses on, but I really think that game 5 was the refs doing down the stretch. There were just some horrible calls. Game 6 though... yeah, that's on the players.

That was probably a Larry call, he was in love with AK. It's also ancient history. GMs learn from mistakes just like anyone else. Okur is the only one he botched as of late. Having both the foresight to trade up for Williams, and also getting massive value out of him before his last few months, providing the lockout does happen, is nothing short of genius.

No homer-glasses, it was a complete joke by Bob Delaney and Steve Javie, and easily one of the 5 worst officiated playoff games of the decade along with:
Kings/Lakers - Game 6, 2002 Western Conference Finals.
Suns/Spurs - Game 3, 2005 Western Conference Finals.
Heat/Mavs - Game 3 & 5, 2006 NBA Finals.
Spurs/Jazz - Game 4, 2007 Western Conference Finals.
Jazz/Lakers - Game 5, 2008 Western Conference Finals.

I think the Bulls will try to deal Boozer this summer as Coach T obvioulsy likes the more defensive minded Gibson in that 4-spot.
A possible trade could be Boozer to the Bucks for Gooden and Maggette/Salmons.

LOL - am I the only one who notices that immediately after playing on a national stage Boozer becomes the subject of trade rumors.
