As a Jazz fan it's always nice for two objects of hatred to come together. Helps me conserve energy.

The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired Carlos Boozer on amnesty waivers, sources told ESPN.com.

Boozer was released by the Chicago Bulls earlier this week, and teams with cap space could make a bid on a portion of his $16.8 million contract.

The Lakers made the highest bid in a blind auction and were awarded him on Thursday shortly after 5 p.m. ET.

Boozer averaged 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds for the Bulls last season.

Only nine teams in the league had sufficient salary-cap space to bid for Boozer: Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Milwaukee, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Utah and the Lakers.

After a rough start to free agency, Los Angeles now has secured relative bargain deals with Memphis Grizzlies free-agent forward Ed Davis and Boozer to upgrade their frontcourt cast.

I think Houston was the perfect spot for both him and the team. But it will be fun to BOOOOO so hard when the Lakers come to town.

His greatest hits:
AND ONE
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGH
I'M BANGING A BACHELOR REJECT
INTENTIONAL AS A MOTHER****ER
GET A RAISE REGARDLESS
BLING BLING MY MAN

Great news! My hatred for the Lakers was starting to wane...now it can get back to a respectable level again.

Boozer and Randle? Can you get two guys who suck more at defense?

i think it's funnier that the only way the Lakers can get a free agent is to buy one against their will. And right after they got that massive tv contract. Booz will help the team, I wonder how much they will have to pay to have him? It may be a good deal for them. As for Booz and Randle, I think this is basically them taking what they can get and figuring how to make it work later. And getting drafted high doesn't guarantee starting, just ask Deron.
