Boston vs Utah for Hayward

Brown is on a rookie contract smart guy.

Yes I know. But not counting IT and Horford he is one of their biggest contracts at 4 million. Bradley at 8 million and Crowder at 6. To add Butler's 18 million they'd have to lose about 18 million. 8+6+4=18.

Boston would of swept the CLIPPERS in round 1. Don't be a homer because it makes you look foolish

With a healthy Gobert for games 1-3 the Jazz would have swept the Clippers. A healthy Boston would probably beat the Clippers in 6 or 7. DJ and Blake would beat up Boston on the glass and in the paint. Boston would likely win the series because of depth though. You're making yourself look foolish with comments like this.

Everyone is failing to mention that if they get Hayward and George or Butler or some other big time FA, they have an issue in trying to re-sign IT next summer. Lest they want their figure to approach 160M. And that's just in year one.

So yeah, this superteam (which isn't even that super because their frontcourt would still stink) everyone is speculating about would likely be a one year thing.

Hilarious, and how do you figure Boston would stop the CP3/Jordan pick and roll? Jordan would have eaten them alive.

It also makes you look foolish when you don't know how to spell. It's would have*....not would of*

I think the Clips beat boston in a playoff series.
They finished with the same amount of wins in a tougher conference and have more star power.

I think the jazz would beat boston too.

Celtics are lucky that Rondo got injured. They were in trouble in that first round series. They can't rebound.

And no way would the Jazz get pushed to 7 games by the Wizards.

The Celtics have a 5'8" PG, a 6'2" SG, a flopping 6'3" guy at the SF, Jae Crowder at the PF, and Al Horford at the 5. They can't rebound or defend.

Ehh, they still would have beat the Bulls. That was a fairly lucky two game stretch by the Bulls. I dont buy that they would have beat the Bulls 2 more times in 5 games. Celtics were too talented and the Bulls were the Bulls.

They won games 1 and 2 in Boston. Wouldn't say that's a lucky stretch. They were unlucky when they lost their PG.

The Jazz should trade for Butler and create their own super team.

Yeah, that's not going to happen. We dont have the #1 pick.

His aim is to high but he has the right idea. DL needs to trade and upgrade the SG and/or PF position (stretch 4). Then you take that to Hayward and make your pitch. Include going hard at Inlges and Hill if that is needed.

Then give someone the GSW 1st to take Burks and look at unloading Favors (if needed)

The Jazz need to push their chips to the center of the table. They should bid on Butler if for no other reason than to push the price up for the Celtics. If Butler is out of reach, make another move. Boston is probably going to pitch Hayward on teaming with Butler and IT. Ainge did this before with Ray Allen and KG. The Jazz have to counter.

In retrospect, letting Hayward sign an offer sheet with next season as a player option left the Jazz vulnerable to this.

I fully agree that the Jazz need to try and engage the Bulls for Butler. I just think the price will be to high. But yes talk to them about it.

But I agree with the overall approach. I just think butler will cost to much.

The only thing working in Utah's favor at the moment is that the Celtics aren't certain that Hayward will sign. If the Celtics pull the trigger on a trade with the Bulls and Hayward doesn't sign with Boston (maybe he doesn't want to be the 3rd guy to touch the ball?), it leaves the Celtics short of being a real contender, and they've traded their pick. But if the Celtics hold off on trading for Butler, they can't tell Hayward they have Butler 100%. I think this is what's given the Celtics pause in the past. They play their cards and end up short of a definitive contender.

The Celtics are going to try to pry Butler from the Bulls with next year's Brooklyn pick (Brooklyn is the gift that keeps on giving.). The Bulls are going to hold out for Markelle Fultz, and this is where the Jazz can add some pressure to the situation.

This isn't quite the same situation as KG leaving Minnesota, Bosh leaving Toronto, or Lebron leaving Cleveland. Those players each wanted to leave where they were. If Hayward wants out of Utah, then the Jazz are losing him regardless. But if Hayward likes his situation in Utah, it ups the ante for what the Celtics need to offer him to make him jump.

I'm still hopeful but nothing since the Jazz season has ended has made me more hopeful, and Celtics keep looking more appealing.

No mega max
They are in ECF
That have #1 pick
