As the NBA lockout continues, the blowback from fans has become a bigger issue on social media platforms such as Twitter.

Many NBA fans have talked about how they will send a message of their displeasure by not renewing their subscription to NBA League Pass.

Howard Beck of the New York Times has re-Tweeted several such edicts.

A re-imagined version of the NBA logo has also began to appear. The 'Logo' is holding a bag of money with the word 'BOYCOTT' written across the top. This logo first began appearing on October 24th on the blog IGoHardNow.com.

Ratings for Game 1 of the 2011 NBA Finals were up three percent from the previous year and up 15 percent over Game 1 of the 2006 NBA Finals, which also featured the Heat and Mavericks.

For the 10-11 regular season, games on ABC were up 38% from the previous season. TNT saw a gain of 42% and ESPN had a gain of 28% from 09-10.

I consider this to be Day 3 of The Lockout and I haven't missed it yet. Maybe next month. Maybe not. The vacuum created in my leisure time space has been filled. The longer this goes, the greater the chances of my Not Give a **** knob going to 11.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I miss the Jazz no doubt, but with each passing day my urge for Jazz basketball becomes less.

Agreed.

I will fill my time with building comps and playing various new games I probably would not have before. Thanks to the video game thread, I have tons of time-wasters.

I might cry myself to sleep a night or two, but eventually I will probably move on.
Does MLS have a league pass?

While I was upset at first about this lockout, the longer it goes on the more interesting it is getting. It seems that the competition isn't between teams anymore, it's between the NBA and the players association. And now things are getting interesting, with possible decertification and the steps the Nba has taken to 'prevent' it. (namely they are trying to have guaranteed contracts negated in the case of decertification.) I am finding myself checking for updates about as often as I checked for Jazz news. And I don't even have to pay for this entertainment.

Whenever I feel sad that there aren't any games going on, I just remember that when they talk about BRI and tv deals and contract lengths, and max contracts and all that, that is coming from me. Mostly through my cable bill as I don't go to many games, but it is still an expense, even more for those that go to the games.

Yet, I'm sure that Stern isn't trying to save me any money here either, so..... I am in no rush to get this thing over if indeed this is all about helping the small market teams (read Jazz) because If I have to pay to watch NBA ball, I would be happier if my team has a better chance of winning (whenever that is).

Whenever I feel sad, I just remember that Utah was probably going to suck this year anyway. Half a season = half the suck. I would never suggest tanking, but if the season gets cut in half, I suggest tanking. One more sweet pick with only half the pain as the price would help me forget about this **** a lot sooner.

I know a couple of guys who were die-hard Jazz fans and since the season isn't starting anytime soon they both picked an NHL team and made that their new hobby. I really hope that people don't go running back to the NBA when they do start playing games. I think it would be awesome to let those ******** play in some empty arenas for a few years to show who really has the bargaining power, yet doesn't have a seat at the discussion table.

My feelings exactly.
I just received a LP renewal letter from Dish. Unless the NBA comes up with a deeply discounted price for whatever remains of the season, I won't renew. I do miss the Jazz, though. I was excited to see how all the young players would perform.

I do miss the Jazz quite a bit but not as much as my annoyance and disgust with this whole situation and it grows the longer this drags out, guess I'll have to see which grows more my missing the Jazz or the other emotions.
It's not just annoyance from missing the Jazz it is with the owners and the players both and I think if that annoyance gets to large it might turn to apathy and I'll just decide all the invested emotion isn't worth the headache or my time and call it a day.

But it would be hard to imagine my life without the Jazz.

I've been boycotting LP for a while by using illegal streams for a couple of years now. WAY AHEAD OF THE CURVE!

I miss it like crazy, but Real Salt Lake has been keeping me busy. That will end in the next week or so, so then I will be going even more crazy.
