Breaking News, Deron stays with the Nets

Guess they got their guy and kept him. I'm a bit surprised that he stayed, I didn't think he would but now they kept their value and we won't look like robbers in the night as much.
 
Mark Stein also reporting now that he chose 5 years, $100 million over the $75 million Dallas was offering him.
 
Glad he didn't go to the Mavs. The East needs more parity among their 8 playoff teams, this should help.
 
Bird rights make you wonder if we could've had a great shot at keeping him. Oh well onward and upward.
 
Remember, we like what we got for him, two #3 picks, the golden state pick and what became a #2 pick. It wasn't a desperation move by us, it was a calculated move to bring in value.......

Ok I don't believe all of this, but I will say that it wasn't as much a desperation move as it was a move to get someone who wasn't committed to the Jazz out and bring in some players who feel like they have been given a second chance. (read: more likely to stay for reasonable contracts)
 
I don't think the Jazz would've paid this kind of money to keep him around, Bird rights or otherwise.
 
The Jazz had painted themselves into a corner with AK, then Memo, then Jefferson, and then Jefferson pissed in it trying to put out a fire. Even though I miss the **** out of having a player that good and a guy that was a lone wolf, it probably played out like it had to.

Now if we can get corner pisser out of here, the Jazz will be in good shape.
