Breaking News: Melo Reports to Denver Media Day

AoiAKiaaoat!

Whaaat? Carmelo has made it quite clear that he does not see his future in Denver by not signing the extension. Denver does not want to be another Cleveland or Toronto and get only a trade exception for a star player. Hopefully, DWill will keep Ak heavily involved with the offense. He also plays defense with more intensity when he is a big part of the offense.

Thanks for your support, Ben. I just want to talk Jazz and I'm sick of all this crap. I've complained to some of the mods and Colton about it. If other people complain, maybe they will do something about it and people can start acting civil again, like it was years ago.

Like I said a long time ago, this mostly started when Deron's fans started posting here, a younger crowd with a lot of attitude. I got on their wrong side when I said that Deron was ignoring AK in the offense and this was one of the reasons for AK's poor play. It's something I still believe and there are others on here who agree with me. What happened was though that Jerry took Deron's side and this forced AK into being a role player. There were others here who recognized this before me. But this I believe is the source of the conflict.

Ak was never going to be a stud on a championship team. If you think that then truely go to a doctor and get yourself checked out. Jerry made ak a role player..lmao....Injuries maybe some plus deron williams is twice the player then ak ever was and deron is just getting better with age and ak is just getting more injured with age. Also if you think dwill was not passing the ball to ak then you are crazy cuz deron is one of the best points in the game. That statement is absurd

Actually Deron said that there were times that he wasn't passing AK the ball. When asked if he was freezing AK out of the offense (because at times it really looked like he was even to the media) this was his reply

"He's coming off a screen on one side, and Matt Harpring's coming off a screen on one side, who do you think you're gonna pass to? You think you're gonna pass to the guy you see working every day in the gym? Or you gonna pass to the guy who never works on his shot but wants to shoot ... "

Williams was having problems with AK's work ethic and thought others were a better option. Just as Write4u said.

Now as for the rest of your post ncolorado. I completely agree. AK was never a player that was going to win you a chip without having a couple of scoring studs to lead the way. But he really could have been a very important piece to that team without the injuries.

Deron only froze AK out after Kirilenko kept missing shots. Remember how AK claimed he had worked on his game all summer long and came back shooting as poorly as ever? And he came back as skinny as ever. So what was AK working on? Probably his Master's in Russian literature.

AK got to a certain point and was content with where he was at. He was the best player on a below average team. Miller mortgaged the farm and paid him the MAX instead of letting the market set the price. All because Pau Gasol got a MAX contract and Larry H. believed the two were comparable players.

Kirilenko could have been a perennial all-star, but he quit working on his game. And when he didn't improve offensively, the touches went to more efficient scorers. And he pouted, and didn't put forth the same effort on the defensive end as before.

Edit: thanks for finding those quotes, Ben10. I was working on my post when you posted your response. Agree with you 100%.

Why do all the haters resort to calling or implying the guys they hate are gay? I guess it's homophobia, of which there is a lot on this board. Actually, homophobes are guys who doubt their own masculinity.

Sensitive much?
Maybe the joke wasn't that funny, but I don't have any problems with my masculinity. And I am far from being a homophobe.

I also don't hate AK. If he stays with the Jazz, I hope he has a good year. In fact, I'm glad the Diaw deal didn't happen. I think the Jazz need to be certain Raja can play 25 mins/per, CJ has progressed and Hayward can contribute as a rookie before they trade away a wing. But I won't shed any tears if a deal is made at the deadline that strengthens the team (or is a lateral move) and saves the Millers some serious $.

No, Ben, I agree, about Deron and AK, that the last couple of years their chemistry has been good. I'm only talking about the early years that led to AK's funk, if you will. In fact, I remember times when he got mismatches under the basket against the opposing PGs and Booner and Hot Rod yelling to get the ball to AK and Deron ignoring him.

Other people have said it was actually Jerry who phased AK out of the offense, which may be true. But I do think his lack of involvement, whoever or whatever was the cause, did affect his play, quite a bit.

I posted a picture of a guy with a sign saying "Homosexuals are Gay!" in an effort to make fun of write4u being so proud of detecting something totally obvious, and now all he posts about is homophobia. Well, I've got news for you. Homosexuals are gay. You're the one taking the word "gay" as an insult. Not me!

Recognizing differences between people does NOT make one racist/sexist/homophobic.

And what's the point? Of this, or the picture? Why do people even discuss homosexuality on here, unless it has something to do with the Jazz, like Amaechi, who in fact was gay, and which we discussed here before he came out publicly, because a poster revealed this on here before he came out.

I didn't say AK was gay, but Glasseater made a joke about it, implying that he might be, so I commented that it seems a lot of posters here, not me, call someone gay if they don't like him. Aint was notorious for that, and sometimes even vicious in his comments. Korver was his favorite whipping boy for venting his hatred of gays.

I could care less if a guy is gay. If he can play and make the team better, that's all I care about. Trouble was that Meech was washed up by the time he came to the Jazz, though I think he had chemistry issues with Jerry, which probably was his downfall. I'll give credit to Jerry, though, because he did give Meech some chances, everyone that he screwed up, except for one game when he outplayed Tim Duncan.

Oh, and McFly, I liked you better as Kramer ...
