Sounds like a riot ;)

As Gameface has explained about the bar restrictions, SLC is kinda ****ty by design (unless you're into temple square and riding in a carriage). I've stayed downtown a couple times with my wife (we're from UTC), went to the nice restaurants, tried to go clubbing, etc. and we've never walked away thinking it was a blast. I've never experienced that in other cities. I'm sure there's fun to be had but even when we stay up there and take the kids to baseball games it always feels like work instead of play. I'd honestly rather stay in West Valley by the Maverick Center when an event is going on.

So being surrounded by people and standing in lines is your idea of a good time?

Being surrounded by people is part of the appeal of living in a large city. You get to see all types of people, listen to street musicians and crazy people preaching about end of the world, have your pick from countless top notch food trucks, get your fill of art and culture, plenty of famous comedians/musicians/whatever will include your city in their tours, and so on and so forth. It isn't just me. The city vibe is big part of why tons of people, in the NBA or elsewhere, prefer to live in large cities.

The standing in line bit was tongue in cheek, but it isn't a total negative. Good places usually have high demand. It tells you something about the quality of the donuts when a small local donuts joint has an hour long line. And finally, your response makes you sound like a stupid *******.

Sorry, just don't the appeal of big cities. To each his own. Rather live in a small arts community than a big over-crowded **** hole.

Like you said, to each his own. A lot of people like living in the suburbs as they see it as more suitable to raising children. Others like rural living and open spaces. Lots of people however, find living in a metropolis very appealing. I'm quite sure you've heard of that before!
 
Denver and SLC are both great cities. They have similarities but are very different in other ways. Both have great party scenes. Utah has one of the most unique counter cultures that throw some of the most crazy parties that are very unique and off the beaten path. Any big city is easy to have fun in though. No reason to claim a city is better than another they are just different.

Wow, guess I should've waited/researched properly before I posted earlier. If the 3 DUI thing (especially 2 in just this year alone) is true, then his problem(s)/issue(s)/etc appear to go beyond just being in that wrong place at that wrong time/immaturity/etc. For basketball reasons alone, you still have to do your due-diligence, but unless facts are being fabricated/embellished/mis-reported, I don't see how DL gives up any asset(s) of value (even one such as Burke) for a player of that mindset/maturity. There is a point in which personality, selfishness, erratic behavior, etc becomes more determinantal to a team than any amount of skill-set/talent-level can make up for.

Considering just how much emphasis/priority that this FO has recently (even more so than usual) placed on character, I don't see how this type of acquisition occurs outside of the team basically obtaining him for free. I don't know exactly how young Lawson is, but I do know that he is old enough to have put an end to this type of behavior by now (if it were going to occur). Why (& how) professional athletes/celebrities/wealthy individuals put themselves in this type of position (as well as all people in general) is beyond me. Being able afford a luxury car/mansion/etc, yet being unable to (or unwilling to) afford a driver (or limousine/taxi at the least) seems to indicate that there are larger issues at hand.

Not knowing enough about the situation/his personal life, I will attempt to reserve judgment, but unless there is more to the story/stories than what meets the eye, I hope (& am fairly certain) that this franchise will not put the team-chemistry (which is quickly becoming one of the team's biggest strengths) at risk. Unfortunately, there is much more involved in building a championship-caliber team than just acquiring as much talent as possible. History has shown that this isn't the most affective strategy of team building, & lucky for us, I'm sure this FO is more than aware of that. Here's hoping that Ty Lawson (along with any other person out there) is able to overcome whatever it is that he is currently struggling with, but unless he's able to do so within the next 2-3 months, I hope he is able to do so while wearing another jersey.
