Burke Nro. 1 in ESPN Rookie Ranking (insider)

free weight, of course. i never believed in machine especially when it comes to bench press. i was 6ft 175lb when i was 9th grade. there were plenty of 9th graders who did 225lb 5 times in my high school. i lived in south. we were country strong. everybody was trying out for football.

you don't have to believe me, but my best max was 375. i was 24.

I don't doubt that you can train up to 375 or more. I don't believe an unconditioned person can do 185x5 after only 2 months of lifting. At least from my experience. But I do agree that 185x3 for a 6 foot athlete should be easily doable. A lot of younger players avoid heavy lifting and bulking because it would affect their speed. I'm sure he'll be able to put on some muscle in the next couple of years.

you would be surprised how easy it is to bench your own weight 7-8 times in 2 months of dedication. i was already a strong kid and i didn't have long arms. protein, creatine, and bench every other day. my dad also bought me free weight bench, so i even benched at home. i was obsessed. i did dumbell flies and dips too. but at that time i used my back alot when i benched. it was my bad habit. i battled 2 herniated discs in my 20's because of that.

anyway i did 225lb max in front of coaches during try out. it was the greatest feeling in the world.

can someone post some of the other ones too? like if there are 10 can u post the 9 other ones pls. no need to post everythin just a lil summary that covers almost eveythin. thx.

trey needs to get stronger. 3 reps 185 bench press is very disappointing. lilard did 13 times and he has longer reach. basically trey never worked out in his life.

i did 185lb 5 times when i was 9th grade in high school with just 2 months of working out

Durant did 1 time when he came in to the league. Not a big deal.

I can bench press double Ds. I could probably push it to Fs if I really tried.

it doesn't hurt to get stronger especially for a guy who doesn't have the size and great athleticism. if he gets stronger it will benefit him in a long run. i cringed many times when he fell on the floor at michigan. i always thought trey would be injury prone because the way he played. he did play like AI in many games, carrying the team and being more shoot first PG. and he got beat up. college is way more physical especially in big ten rivalry games.

knock on KD early was that he needed to hit the gym and get stronger. and he did. it shows.

So just lifting a lot makes you stronger? There's other things that are needed then just lifting stuff in basketball.
