Burke Slams Media

Why would I have anything to say about it? I would LOVE for the Jazz and Jody Genessy to stop trying to trade Favors. Maybe I missed it, but has there ever been an absolute denial by Lindsey...a quote with him saying the Jazz have never shopped Derrick and they believe he is an important piece of the team long term?

For the record, I think Favors is underrated and trading him for a "stretch-4" would be a mistake.

Do you deny trade rumors have swirled around Favors for two years? All I've done is give my opinion that I believe the rumors have factual basis. Aren't opinions allowed on this board, or is it just my opinion you live to attack?
Does it seem even slightly odd to you that you're the only one ranting about this stuff?

"Ranting?"
I've made a couple of comments and have been attacked. Franklin asked me the same question two times and I responded. I'd hardly call that ranting when I am responding in defense of being accused of saying something I didn't or taking a position I have never espoused (namely, being in favor of trading Favors).

Heaven forbid Burke come here to this website. I think he would have to cry himself to sleep every night! You are a professional athlete, get over it and go play with your millions of dollars.

There is a difference between people he never interacts with being sarcastic than someone who regularly sees him in person and acts different to his face.

Couple of points here: Simmons isn't much of an idol of mine. Zach Lowe, though, that guy is my everything.

I fouled out of a church ball game once.

What was a worse moment in your career?

Standing idly by while Ben Dowsett called Mississippi State a junior college or this recent twitter thing with Burke?

I'm guessing the former.

NEVER let this idiots make fun of you!!! I listen to you on a podcast from faraway places. I think you are smart and even handsome not like that GESSYY!!!

Yeah. Ranting. And BTW, who said you want to trade Favors? You are exactly the opposite. You keep saying that not only shouldn't the GM discuss the possibility, but that he ought to publicly deny ever having discussed it. That would be stupid and bizarre.

Why would it be bizarre? Other GM's have come out and said trading player X was never considered. Hell, DL said after he drafted Rodney Hood (a ROOKIE) that he wanted to have him on the team his entire career. WE hear all this stuff about the camaraderie of the players. Lindsey makes it sound as if they sit around the campfire singing Kumbaya together. Yet by even seriously listening to offers, it appears the message is that Derrick will be traded as soon as the right deal comes along.

Yet by even seriously listening to offers, it appears the message is that Derrick is the most desired player on our team (by other gm's) with most value and yet dl still has not traded him for anything offered, proving that dl does not want to trade him.

Fixed

Perhaps. Or it just proves that DL is dealing from a position of strength this time, unlike when Kanter demanded a trade and had to be dumped. He may still want to pull the trigger, but wants to get even value in return.
Ya maybe. I still don't see what good or fun it is to believe that our gm wants a player we all love to be gone. Especially without actual proof and with a team that through coaches, players, and front office have been creating something special.

In other words, try the koolaid. It tastes good. (Though not as good as that baking cake is gonna taste)

Koolaid and cake. Sounds like a childhood Utah birthday party. Or not...I think my parents may have sprung for Shasta.
