Burks any better than Stephenson, Brooks?

Stats for SL top 3 scorers:
Lance Stephenson: 19.8 ppg, 53% FG, 2.5 Reb, 4.8 asst.
Marshon Brooks: 17 ppg, 39% FG, 2.5 Reb, 4.3 asst.
Alec Burks: 17.2 ppg, 45% FG 3.4 Reb, 2 asst.

I know I shouldn't try to extrapolate too much, and that SL is built for ball-dominant SGs like these three. I didn't get to see the games, but can anyone tell me why I should expect more from Burks going forward than from Stephenson & Brooks (other than that Burks isn't a knucklehead -- maybe that's enough?). I don't really expect either of those two to be anything more than average NBA players at best.

I'm not anti-Burks by any means, but I will say in defense of Kanter for all the grief he's taken in these few days that his total SL stats are probably better than any other big from the SL (Sullinger's probably the only close one, but with a pretty low shooting %).

I'm going to say yes. I just don't see Stephenson translating to an NBA player and Brooks is a chucker. I guess we'll find out.

I'll be honest. I'm not very impressed by Burks. I like him. But he seems a bit chuckerish. Doesn't finish as many close shots that are fairly easy, as he should.

Stephenson is a SL vet.

Brooks is a pretty well rounded scorer, more so than Burks, but lacks Burks "special" ability of attacking the basket, drawing fouls.

I liked that in the one game I could watch. They let Burks run the offense at the end of the game and he was able to lead the team to a win while stretching the lead down the stretch. He was playing SG but he was controlling the ball instead of Ahearn.

Stephenson is a total nutcase and malcontent.

As for Burks, I like his swagger, his abilities, just hope it translates into something consistently sustainable.

Yeah. Three very good games, two fairly poor. Of course that's par for the course for most SL guys. Hope the consistency comes around.

I noticed that too. Maynor and Deron ran some two PG sets with Williams assuming the off-guard role. I could see Mo and Alec do the same with Mo spotting up to shoot.

That would be awesome. If you think about it, our best backcourt ever (Stockton/Hornacek) did exactly this.
