Uh oh...not good. Anyone else have any additional info?
 
Yah, I think if it is an injury that requires surgery, it's much better to do it now, than to wait for the summer. No need to risk it getting worse..
 
I agree that this is the year to do it but it just sucks that he could lose up to a whole season right now. Better now than latter though.
 
Gives more time for Hood to develop in a more or less inconsequential season. If he gets it done now, he'll at least be fully recovered by the time the team starts paying him big bucks.

Actually I think it's great news if he gets this procedure done sooner rather than later. He was going to need surgery anyway. Why not do it now and have the rest of the season to recover and then be able to really hit full workouts by summer? Hood will get a ton of experience starting. And maybe we'll also be able to see if Christopher, Clark or Murry are worth keeping. I predict in the next 10 mins someone is going to say Lindsey is stupid for having locked up Alec in October. Certainly he should have foreseen an injury and Burks would have signed for less.
 
I don't really want him to lose playing time this year. I think it is crucial for his development but if there are fears that it could get worse, there is just no reason to delay.

It sounds like best case he will still need surgery after the season. I think putting him on the shelf is not a bad thing and Hood and Exum can split his minutes.
 
Like the maturity I've seen from Alec this season... This sucks, but gives us a chance to get an extended look at Burks.
