Making money is unethical? Fair price is whatever the market bares. If the Apple users didn't pay the asking price, they would have to lower their price.
I guess in short I don't see this as unethical. There may be (probably are) other things Apple does that are unethical, but selling their product at the market driven price isn't one of them.
is it unethical to ask outrageous prices while giving low wages.
for example
final assembly and test is $227 for the iPhone 6 16GB
while resale price is 649 us dollar. (of course there is shipping cost and marketing cost and cost for the software. but that wont be much more per unit
while employees are working in sweatshops.
maybe maximizing profit is good for shareholders.
but with these asking prices they could set up manufacturing processes in USA and pay fair wages. instead of going to mongolia, china, korea, taiwan and pay them meager wages. it is not ethical towards the (world) community as a whole.
for those who dont know what ethics are
Ethics (also moral philosophy) is the branch of philosophy that involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong conduct. The term ethics derives from the Ancient Greek word ἠθικός ethikos, which is derived from the word ἦθος ethos (habit, “custom”).
is it right or wrong?
should they only maximize profits for shareholders.
should they also be right or wrong towards their employees.
btw this same company boycots indiana for their "anti-gay" law. so atleast they take the moral highground there while not boycotting the middle east.
alos apple is stealing other designs and patenting it like a smaller laptop. like seriously laptops have been getting smaller and smaller since the dawn of mankind

. yet apple reached a certain thickness first then patented it(the air)
to me apple is very unethical as a company due to various reasons
guess this was the wrong place to discuss this, or i thought i lived in a world where ethics where a thing. guess i was wrong
sorry if you felt trolled this was no troll
