Come on. We already have three rookies on the team, all with upside. We'll have another top 6 pick this year guaranteed. There's no reason to tank this year. The draft isn't strong enough to want two lottery picks. I'd rather have it next year which is supposed to be a stronger draft. Either way, a rookie shooting guard isn't going to be the difference between being a .500 team and making noise in the playoffs.
Thats fine. Nobody would expect us to win anyway. WE'd play easy and loose and who knows, maybe even steal a game? Experience is invaluable. It will also offset partly the insult to injury that we have withregardds to paying luxury tax for this team.
This draft has bust written all over it. The Nets pick would suffice for that magical SG whom you guys are all hoping to grab in the draft.

The problem is Gregg Miller is so cheap. He aims for the playoffs nothing more.

I don't think we are THAT cheap. We just picked up some bad players. Got stuck with an ugly AK contract from Larry Miller and a huge Milsap contract. With the money left we had to spend it on BELL *barf* and some other filler players with unacceptable talent. I say we aim for Afflalo with the money left next year!!!

This. Very few here expected Bell to be such a huge disappointment. I didn't think he'd be great, but I had no idea how bad he'd actually be.

I sadly will admit I was very excited to have BELL for the first month. I wish he clothesline someone...that would ease the pain just a little bit.
Bell should'nt be more than a backup SG at this stage. Problem is the Jazz have another strictly backup SG material backing him up. They must have expected the other 4 players to do the heavy lifting and Bell to be just a filler. Not happening. Miles did not improve as expected, AK's offense is still flaky and Deron went downhill after his injury. So, Bell's limitations just got magnified. You got to hand it to him though. He was smart enough to earn himself a nice little contract at 34, at the expense of the Jazz.
I ultimately agree with VJ and co. However, I also agree with Bentley. That is to say, I'd rather the team win, turning around a losing trend is a lot harder than just getting players, especially since the team currently has no soul and especially since a pick in the 20's next year is probably the equivalent of a mid-lottery pick this year. However, yes, if the Jazz are going to lose, let's see how high we can get our other pick.
Corbin might be the guy, but extending him seems a very premature and a very Jazz thing to do at the same time. And I don't mean that in a good way.
