BYU Football 2012

BYU has a decent schedule this season (so far). Oregon State (beat #13 Wisconsin 10-7 today), Boise, Utah State, Dame, we'll see on GT... too bad TCU wasn't on the schedule this year too.

When was the last time Utah state was mentioned as a reason that someone has a decent schedule?
 
Nice tune up today. Now it's time to take out the garbage this week. I hope Kruger doesn't tap out like he did against Utah St.

With our spotty O-line play, maybe we should hope their whole blitzing defense "taps out". That's the one area that scares me really going into any game. There was all that hype in fall camp about them being trim downed(which does help when the offense goes hurry up of course) and they had a couple of intriguing scrimmages with the ground game doing well, but not too much carry over into the actual games yet. Utah should be able to get some decent pressure on Riley and make him force things sometimes based on what we've seen so far.
 
To me it's pretty obvious this game will come down to QB play. I think both teams will have some success running the ball and playing good defense. Can the QBs make a few plays and avoid TOs? Whichever one can do that will win the game.

Meh.

I guess.

I see their Oline play as pretty horrible too. It's going to come down to the QB. Whoever turns the ball over the most/in worst possible, is going to lose.

Their undisciplined pass rush will leave them open to QB keepers (Chucky's run which set up the game winning TD), quick slants, and screens. The school up north's linebackers suck.

This is why BYU needs to take charge from the get go, avoid getting behind, and avoid 3rd and long, to slow down that pass rush.
