Wonder how things would have ended up if BYU kicked the short FG to go up 9-0 instead of going for it on 4th and turning it over on downs.

I thought it was a mistake to go for it even before they turned it over on downs. Not only that, I think Bronco has gotten away with some terrible coaching decisions during the recent years of this rivalry. Last season, there was over 1 minute left in regulation when Bronco had the winningest QB in BYU history run out the clock and opt for OT. While BYU did win that game, I felt it was in spite of Bronco's decisions, not because of them.

Today, I think a few of his bad decisions played huge roles in the loss.

Except, if that pass had been completed, we'd all be singing his praises.

My ONLY beef with this game is the final drive and those absurd running plays up the middle. I slowly died a little inside on every single one of those snaps.

Why did they pass it anyways? They had been running the ball fairly well and it was 4th and inches!

Also, I was very impressed by Heaps, but I'm still not sure he knows what the word 'touch' means. He throws short passes way too hard and has no feel when trying to drop in the deep ball. Maybe he'll learn in time, maybe not.

one of the strangest games i've been to(also one of the coldest), just happy we won it, it was a struggle but we made the plays when we needed to

All respect to BYU in this game. It was a hard fought, clean played, and good game all the way around.

To Ute fans calling for Cain. Are you high or stupid? Ive been arguing with my dad and other fans in the stands for weeks now that Cain sucks worse than Wynn. Now they get their way and that loser almost cost us the game. Those 2 picks were about as bad of football plays as you can make. The 2nd one into double coverage was pathetic. He had 2 good games against some of the worst teams we have ever played and they think that was reason to play him over Wynn.

Sorry Greg, disagree.

Wynn has been butt hurt since TCU. Cain made some bad mistakes, but Wynn had to suck it up. Look for cain to lead this team next year.

Great decision by Coach.

Cain is a senior and is gone after this year. Playing him was a terrible decision. Wynn has been bad since TCU but they took a huge risk about losing that kid and his future for a dead end player that will not be back. I would almost understand if it was for Robles or a young QB. But taking that risk for a senior who also has no talent was just about as stupid as Crowton (oops Mendenhall) not taking a 2 score lead instead of going for it on 4th.

Ohh and never feel sorry for disagreeing with me. It's part of being on a sports talk board. If I did not want other opinions I would not come here. :)

Whether or not Payne had hit that field goal at the end, it would have been a good game. Good in the sense of excitement and tension. I didn't know how long I could stand there in sub 30 degree weather watching two teams, neither of which seemed to want to win. But it was dramatic, anyway.

Considering the debacle at Notre Dame, I think it was okay (good) for Whit to give Cain a shot. You can only watch Wynn melt for so long before you want something to be hopeful for. Besides, Wynn needed a wake up call more than he needed his confidence coddled. I think Cain being out there was good for Wynn.

Oh, and I've been in denial all year long, but after this game I have finally come to admit that indeed, Heaps > Wynn.
