Call Your Shot (Presidential Race)

I'm finding the whole picture pretty credible for Parkinson's. Pneumonia is common in Parkinsons because of difficulty in swallowing correctly. A sip of water goes down wrong, then there's this coughing fit, and some water in the lungs..... pneumonia is the secondary "illness" but usually the direct cause of death in Parkinsonism.

Dems should reset. Bern would be fun.

I feel like hillary dropping out to be replaced by Biden would be the best thing that could happen for the dems at this point. Absolutely no chance he wouldn't win in a landslide imo.

The most disconcerting thing about that vid isn't Hillary. It's those that came to help were so nonchalant... as if it's an ordinary thing.
It was as if they had already practiced trying to hide it. The guy who came around the van to shield her from the view of the camera knew exactly what he was doing. Unfortunately for Hillary he just wasn't wide enough.

If it's pneumonia (very highly doubt it), it's still a bad look.

If it's worse than that, they aren't going to be able to hide it enough for her to get elected.

I'd be pissed if I were a Democrat. She shouldn't have been nominated.
Lance Armstrong failed a drug test in the 1999 Tour de France. His team quickly got a fake, backdated prescription for Cortisone and claimed that they'd forgotten to inform race officials that he was taking it for health reasons under doctor's orders. The governing body of cycling decided to look the other way because Lance's early success in the race was already resulting in an avalanche of American tourism. This backdated pneumonia diagnosis feels like deja vu.

Short clip but no doubt it looked expected and rehearsed.

Tim Kaine for Prez??

Whether the Secret Service followed protocol, or not, was noticed early:

I'm not sure I'm ready to embrace conspiracy theories just yet. The Clinton campaign is catching a lot of flak for not disclosing the doctor's pneumonia diagnosis 2 days ago, and for saying she left due to "overheating", however.

The video looked as if the puppeteer had taken his hand out of the Hillary puppet a little bit too soon. The people surrounding her did their best to make it look as ordinary as possible, but it looked anything but ordinary.

Interestingly, long after the video of the "swoon" was widespread MSNBC still wasn't showing it. Instead they showed video of her talking to a little girl and waving at people as she left Chelsea's apartment several hours afterward. The reporter in the story I saw said, "We have no indication that Hillary is not in good health." It's as if they believed the facts might go away if they ignored them.

I thought the Secret Service was paid to all but have 360 degree vision and to be observant and focused on possible threats at all times? I'm also wondering if your speculation would mean that these particular Secret Service agents have been brought in on a serious health concern, that Hillary has let them know she's sick and that they should help her hide it from view? In other words, there not just working for the government, but have a side job with the Clinton's? Are not agents more concerned with the physical safety of who they protect, and not conspiring to hide something that the candidate herself is trying to hide? I'm not ready myself to go this conspiracy route. Seems more logical, and more in keeping with Clinton character, that they decided Friday to shut up 'bout the pneumonia diagnosis in hopes the antibiotics would just work without having to disclose. Just seems more logical then conspiracy theory to me. Are the agents really in on a conspiracy? I doubt it.....

This is pretty funny.

The one thing you can be positive of, whatever the truth is, it ain't gonna be what the Clinton camp is saying it is.

I once spent two days familiarizing the Secret Service with the Park City Ski Area in preparation for a Dan Quayle visit. The agents told me all sorts of stories about things they'd done and seen. My impression is that they often find themselves in possession of information that the people they are protecting don't necessarily want them to have, but can't avoid sharing. They told me stories of things they'd seen and done that broke protocol. It's part of working closely with someone for an extended amount of time. Even a Secret Service Agent can't be an automoton all the time.

So do I think that the Secret Service might become aware of a health issue and subsequently make meticulous plans to deal with the possible repercussions? Yeah. When I spent time with them skiing they were constantly imagining situations and discussing how they'd deal with them.

That said, my comment about the agent trying to block the camera view was wrong. Shortly after posting it I realized that was the position he should have taken, regardless of the circumstances.
