Can Favors be a legit center?

The player you are describing there is MKG for sure. He seems to have enough strength to matchup against some 4's. That isn't our need though. Our need is wing who can shoot and PG who can run an offense or score.
And yeah, if we need a 10 minute backup PF, Evans can be that guy.

I don't think us getting MKG is realistic. The guy that came to my mind was T. Jones. He's a better shooter, and if he is like Odom he can play both the 3, and the 4 positions.

Funny I was thinking something similar but my conclusion was different. I think favors defense makes up for Jefferson's lack. I think trading millsap is the better option if we get a 3 who can shoot. I also agree that Evans is that 10 min man you would need.

Favors in my mind matches up better with Millsap as he can play the perimeter so Favors can stay inside, plus with Jefferson out of the way, I think Favors will develop a lot quicker. I just don't see Favors developing into a star with Al taking most the touches, and ultimately both Al, and Millsap might have to be moved to make room for both of the young bigs. I'm pretty sure Millsap will com and a much bigger contract .

I like Cyrone think we need a PG and a good shooting wing. I have also come to the conclusion that we need to trade Al and keep Millsap. With Millsap, we have a quicker PF, who can play stretch 4s relatively well. He's more efficient than Al, a better defender (although a tad undersized), and adds something different from Kanter and Favors, while being a relatively good rebounder for his size. If the jazz go into this next draft with 3 picks (2 first-rounders +1 second-rounder) and the intention of keeping all of them, then I'd suspect that they'd draft the fourth big. After watching his past two games, I am, like everybody, impressed with Crowder.

I'd be surprised if they brought three more rookies to camp. Given that, I hope that they trade Al and then sign some journeyman big to be #4.

41. Atlanta - Robert Sacre (6'11'', C, Gonzaga, Sr.)
42. Portland - Dee Bost (6'2'', PG, Mississippi State, Sr.)
43. Utah - Dusan Cantekin (7'4'', C, Turkey)
44. Houston - Ognjen Kuzmic (7'1'', C, Bosnia)
45. Milwaukee - Jae Crowder (6'6'', SF, Marquette, Sr.)
46. Houston - Scott Machado (6'1'', PG, Iona, Sr.)

i am not stuck in the word center or pf, Favors can play either position and it is not important which one it is, 4-5 is a pair , so it depends on who is the next big guy , if millsap is in the court he will definitely defend bigger players, if kanter is on the floor he will defend whom he can better, and while jefferson is on the court (which i hope wont be next year) he can defend the number 4 of opposite team.

But if we are talking about future, Favors and Kanter can very well play together and guard whom they can best regardless who is a center who is a pf.

I think Kanter is clearly the C. He has a lower center of gravity and can keep C's out of the paint. Even though Favors was doing a good job of defending Bynum, he was backing him deep.

Umm...my apologies to Favors, Kanter and Millsap. They faced the best 4/5 combo in the league tonight. Bynum had a great game and Gasol had a double-double. The Laker bigs outscored our bigs by two points, Utah bigs had the rebounding advantage. So a push at worst. And given their youth, I'd rank that as a HUGE victory for Utah. Jazz came to LA and just bloodied the noses of the neighborhood bullies!
