Can the Alec Burks experiment please end?

it is a stupid mistake to sign 4 year 40 million dollar deal. he is not putting on the court being worth 10 million a year first of all. Plus he isnt even a good fit with hayward, plus there is dante coming from back. my only hope is he will get traded next year but who the hell will agree to pay this contract?
it is not that i dont like burks but he is just a skilled scorer, not a team player. definitely a bad fit for what we are trying to build

Well he isn't getting paid 10 million a year yet....

The contract means the Jazz are betting on his development. They wanted to do smart business and if he's developing the way they envision his contract is going to be an asset. They regret not meeting Hayward's demand last fall. So this summer they were like: quality 2 guards with size are very rare, so let's overpay on paper and try to develop his playmaking and defense so the whole package is worth his contract.

This is a good move.
Time will tell if twas the right move but you have to take such decisions and live with the consequences.
I would not blame the Jazz top brass, even if things don't pan out the way they had foreseen.

Utah is 8-12 and playing competitively since Burks went down. A pathetic 9-29 before.

Why they locked up an injured guy for 4 years, who plays a highly injury risk game and whose stats don't translate into wins will be one of the most baffling Jazz moves of all time.

Oh, and Trey Burke has a higher defensive win shares than Alec.

You make it sound like he was injured at the time he was re-signed.

He was injured, although I think you probably are pointing out he was playing, rather than IR when he signed. The jazz knew he had shoulder issued since the draft.

Guess I should retract that since I said he looked plenty healthy prior to the re-injury when others were blaming his poor performance on it. I just wasn't feeling the same without a little Burks bashing is all.
