He had a step past Mudiay and i thought had an easy lay in or dunk but the time he took going up and lack of explosion vertically was what allowed Mudiay time to block him from behind. That was very disappointing when Mudiay blocked that. Dante had him beat badly. Dante is just an average leaper so needs to learn how to elongate his body sideways on drives, get the foul from body contact at least.
 
The biggest thing I've started to question about Dante and his "potential" is if he is a tall/long PG, or a tall/long guy who can play some PG. Does he have the necessary leadership intangibles that are required of the position. That is all very hard to tell with a player as young as Dante, but I don't see clear signs beneath the surface.

correct. Hopefully he'll learn. He could draw a zillion fouls with his first step

Hayward is not "hands down" our best perimeter defender. He's our best defender for wings. You want G Hill over Hayward in a variety of matchups. This is obvious.
 
some of you people are ridiculous. he's barely 21. if i've learned anything while being in college is that lots of young guys like him don't physically blossom for another couple years. plus, he's coming off a major injury. let's all calm down and just see how he develops. geez, some of you are worse than teenage girls with all this whining.

He said choose 1, I'd choose Hayward over Hill. Obviously they both have different strengths, but I think Hayward has more versatility guarding a variety of players.

Great post. Even I get a little bit excited when I think of him as a pg but if he is a wing then I'm not excited much at all.

I have seen him do this a handful of times this year with good results so that's encouraging.
