after watson subbed in at the [2:00] minute mark (the score being 79-88, burks was +9 in that stretch btw) Will Bynum (guarded by Earl) went for 6 points in 80 seconds, putting the game in jeopardy.
Poor decision to sub watson in for burks at that moment
Watson had about 1/2 season of being a good backup for Utah. Jazz need to get a young prospect at PG and move Watson into coaching. Not sure if Alec can ever become a true PG, playing against starters, but he sure looks like a combo guard to me. Perhaps the answer is to start Hayward at SF and Alec at SG. Then slide Alec over to PG aginst the backups. I sitll find it silly that Sloan andnow Corbin keep insisting on having a complete 1st and 2nd unit. Going forward, the Jazz just need a core-8. Decide on 3 bigs, 3 wings and 2 PG's. Then, just add a couple of decent, short-minute backups - either young prospects or older vets.Watson is your basic third guard and now that Alec can play the spot he is no longer necessary.
I dont know if i would take hart or knight or goddam rusty larue over watson or not.... but i do know that watson is the worst player on THIS team and should not play at all..... we all saw the burks/foye combo work just fine. No need for "the blaxican" to play at all.
knight > watson > rusty > hart
