I mean look at how well Horny is doin in PHX. COTY material, tbh. And they're so fun to watch, too.
KOC and D Lindsey had him right under their noses on the bench and let him walk--and for what? For TyCo?

Would I rather have Horny that Ty? 100%
Will I admit they made a mistake? No.

- Maybe they offered Horny a coach-in-waiting .. (not really, just saying we don't know what happened)
- Maybe we end up with a FAR better player in the draft AND a coach better than Ty or Horny.

According to KEK, Hornacek is garbage and the only reason he is doing well is because it's "his first year." A lot of KEK's position are laughable.
 
I really wish PKM had better inside Jazz connections. We need someone who can let us know what is going on behind the guarded walls of Hamlet.
 
I'm fairly certain the only reason Corbin was kept as the coach was for reasons of purposeful failure. So, until I see where the Jazz end up in the draft, I can't say it was a mistake. If the Jazz end up with a top-3 pick and the Suns lose in the first round of the playoffs, then I'd consider it a massive success.

But yeah, of course Hornacek is better. But my target was Brad Stevens (for a long time).
 
There are plenty of decisions we can second guess, but the only time I think KOC 'screwed up' was the 2011 draft, both picks.

Not disagreeing with you, but curious who you think we should have picked up instead? Leonard is a big one that comes to mind over Burks

For me it was always more than he should have drafted this guy not that guy. It was drafting players who played the same position as Favors and Hayward, and then having to watch the draftees 1 not play and 2 progress very slowly. Jazz are not in that draft position often and the results have been far less than satisfying.

I liked 4 players in the draft, one has done quite well, another has surprised many with good stats for a bad team, the third is meh like Kanter and the last will be out of the league shortly. All but the last guy have got a chance to play lots of minutes and start.

I never got the unfounded Lowe hate ... If anything, he gives pretty solid halftime interviews that show he knows wtf he's talkin 'bout.


But no, no Lowe, no Phil, no Jerry, no nobody inside the damn organization. You need an outsider with no understanding of what does not work, so is willing to try out a bunch of stuff on the go that is guaranteed to lose 10 games.

I'm being srs when I say that I have heard more than once that Lowe is awful... from head coaches.
