Since we now have two Williams on our team and it appears that josh Howard will not be coming back, can we please get one of them to wear #8 so I can rock my Williams jersey?
Wow if your still hanging on to childhood hopes and dreams over an 80$ jersey, than there is bigger issues. Throw your nasty old historic d-will jersey away already! Or maybe we can convince one of them to wear #8 so you don't have to choke up 100$ for a new one.Since we now have two Williams on our team and it appears that josh Howard will not be coming back, can we please get one of them to wear #8 so I can rock my Williams jersey?
Mo came into the league in 03-04, AJ in 04-05.Mo #25
Marvin #24
So they will both have to change, unless we trade either Al or Paul!

Mo came into the league in 03-04, AJ in 04-05.
Marv came into the league in 05-06, Millsap on 06-07.
The player who came into the league first gets first choice of jersey number, so it's the other way around - AJ and Millsap will have to change if Mo and Marv want to keep the numbers they played in since college.
It's why Polynice was able to claim the #0 when he came here and Ostertag had to switch to #39 - Polynice came into the league first. This is news to me. I always thought it was seniority on the team, and not the league that mattered.

[there is an exception - if a trade occurs during a season. Then the newcomer has to change numbers, because league rules prevent a player changing numbers during the season unless he changes teams.]
No, you're wrong. Team seniority means nothing.wrong
teams eniority also counts.
if you are longer on the team you get to keep your number
In honor of you, missing. This is just stuff I know. Google it yourself.link?

NUMBERS GAME: Jazz faithful will watch intently this season in hopes of seeing improved play from center Greg Ostertag.
One change, though, seems quite clear: Those with their eyes on the big guy no longer will be seeing double. Ostertag has siwtched his uniform number from 00 to 39, a concession to the addition of off-season acquisition Olden Polynice.
Polynice, you see, wears No. 0. And since NBA rules prohibit players on the same team from wearing 0 and 00, one of the two had to chose a new number. Polynice, it seems, has seniority on Ostertag, prompting the mothballing of 00.
I just thought of something. Regardless of number, how will Mo's and Marvin's names on their jerseys be differentiated as they have the same first two letters of their first names? Would it be acceptable to show up as Mo Williams and Ma Williams? What did the Nets do with Shawne and Sheldon Williams last year? I need pictures of their jerseys.
Instead of "M. Williams," the jerseys will read: "Scrub" and "Bust."I just thought of something. Regardless of number, how will Mo's and Marvin's names on their jerseys be differentiated as they have the same first two letters of their first names?
