Carl and Pleiss were waived by the Sixers this morning. If we are on a win now campaign he did average 10 ppg for the Sixers last year and was the first player taken in the 2nd round of the NBA Draft.

I mean it's basically just throwing 3-5 million away so he can sit his *** on the bench for 82 games

I always thought that Carl Landry was a poor man's Paul Millsap. He's an okay player, but it's not the right time to get him on the Jazz.

I think Landry would bring good toughness (something we don't have) and more veteran help. He would be a good pickup for sure. Bolomboy would be cut which would be a bummer. Landry probably comes at a higher cost than Bolomboy, but he probably helps out more in a bind. I doubt he would get time over the rest of bench between Gobert, Favors, Withey, Diaw, Lyles, and Hayward who could play some 4.

If we can't sign players to extensions then I think we are below the salary cap floor and Landry would be cheap insurance, vet experience, a bit of fight and bite, and a bargain at $3 million.

Nah, we should pick up Pleiss. His shooting mechanics are unreal.

We have Favors who is borderline allstar a young stud in Lyles we are developing and just signed Diaw. Why the hell would u even suggest him??

If we had a roster spot and he took the minimum I'd be game. Landry isn't a d league guy though so not sure how Homey knew about him.

No room for Landry. It's a good problem to have.

I'm not a fan Landry, and don't believe that he fits the Jazz. But the fact is we have no room to sign any talent that may come up to be available and that, my friend, is not a good problem to have. We don't have a stud-stacked roster by any means. We have a stacked roster, and there are many that are highly replaceable. The best guy to become available recently was Landry, who we have and should have no interest in. But lets say that another team is looking to trade 2 for 1, and willing to give up a potential asset to acquire cap space in re signing one of their valuables at a larger pay increase due to the rising cap space. They are looking to quickly dump 2 for 1 in a 2 or 3 team trade. The Jazz are immediately out of the equation because they have a loaded roster. The loaded roster is not what the problem is, its having a loaded roster that consists of 3 or more nobody's.

I keep thinking we might see a trade of some of that loaded roster particularly one or more of the point guards. So if you have a 2-1 or 3-1 trade there may be room for a guy like this.

I don't know about you, but I've waited long enough for a Jazz team that can compete. Rebuild mode isn't forever. The goal is to compete for a championship - not collect draft picks and take salary dumps. The Jazz have too many draft picks as it is - you'll realize the benefit of having a deep bench when we win more games, make the playoffs and advance throughout it. Bomomboy is the only unproven player on our roster as he's a rookie. He got our last spot because he improved in summer league and was playing too well to not sign - and the Jazz were afraid they'd lose him overseas if they offered him a cheap deal where he'd play in the D-League. All other players on our roster played well last season, including Withey. Everyone has proven they can play and aren't a detriment.

We could easily figure that out if a stud became available... We could dump Neto, Withey, Mack for 2nd rounders in a second.

We have value at every roster spot... that is a good thing. Bolomboy isn't ready but hes and okay roster spot for a 15th man. All of our 1-14 guys are legit NBA rotation players. That is a good thing.
