1. Yes [MENTION=430]Dr. Jones[/MENTION] I do play the guitar but haven't been for the last couple of years but might pick that up again.
2. I already own a company van (thanks [MENTION=253]Saint Cy of JFC[/MENTION]), that I've been driving around the last 6 years, hence wanting something a bit different. It's got our company logo on it, not exactly a chick magnet.
3. I'm not an outdoor adventure person at all (sorry [MENTION=2036]b_line[/MENTION]), I do like to drive out of town and check out different towns and sceneries though so this new car will likely come in handy for that as I want to travel in style rather than driving around the company van for that. Also likely to be staying hotels/motels rather than camping...
4. Like [MENTION=2710]str8line[/MENTION] said to me a car is more than just getting from point A to point B (otherwise the current company van would suffice), hence the thinking about upgrading, I think it offers a lot of intangibles.
But yes I think all this has given me lots to think about. Maybe I should get a 5 seater sedan, but then I don't see myself carrying that many people and not planning to have kids anytime soon.
With the feedback I got so far seems like the Golf GTI is definitely out, doesn't tick enough of the boxes. The Merc somebody mention will make me look too much like a douche? So I think that's out. I think it's down to either the Audi TT or a 5-seat sedan right now (@Ron_Mexico's suggestion I think). The 5-seater option is actually a bit cheaper, so I'm definitely considering that too. Maybe I'll settle somewhere between and get a sporty version of the 5-seater.

I like the outdoors so far as going to the springs & enjoying outdoor hot pools... light trekking and mountain biking, sightseeing, ... but still saying in a hotel/motel, I'm a creature of comfort. So because of that I don't know if I need a jeep or a 4WD type car?

Ah, ok, I'm a city person first and foremost being born and raised in a big city. So I'm probably not the most adventurous person. In the big cities, I thought girls are more drawn to guys who seem to 'have it' and can take them to fancy restaurants, take them shopping, go to the cinema, go clubbing, dinner by the sea, etc? That's who I'm targeting at the moment, not so much the adventurous types. Hence the type of cars I'm targeting.
But of course in the weekend I'd also like to drive them out to sightseeing, etc. Not full on camping & 3-5 days trekking, but more like driving around visiting farmers' market type thing.
IMO.. of what I know of you.. you desire a woman that is more simple and loves you more than your things. It's a paradigm shift, possibly.
