Cavs Shopping the No. Pick and Other Items of Interest

In the Trail Blazers case the Cavaliers reportedly asked for LaMarcus Aldridge and to swap the No. 1 and No. 19 picks, Ford reported. When Portland was done laughing at that offer they may have had a counter — that deal is not happening but consider it a starting point for negotiations.

• My gut feel, the Cavaliers will take Noel with the No. 1 overall pick.

• If the Cavaliers go with Alex Len or another team takes Victor Oladipo at No. 1, expect the Magic to grab Noel at No. 2.

• Denver is shopping the No. 27 pick, the Pacers are shopping the No. 23 pick (but you have to take on Gerald Green‘s contract with it). Basically you can get a pick in the 20s for a song right now, there are a lot of them available.

• The Sacramento Kings new management is seeing what the market is for Jimmer Fredette and if they can get a No. 1 pick for him, reports Chad Ford of ESPN.

• We told you already that the Nets were shopping MarShon Brooks and we speculated they might want one of Minnesota’s plethora of backup point guards. Or, they might want the No. 26 pick in the draft, Chad Ford suggests. They should be able to get more for Brooks.

I don't see the Cavs trading the No. 1 pick for Jimmer. Maybe I am in the minority though.

Jazz should consider the Pacers option. Green is only owed 3.5 for the next two seasons. A typical NBA team could probably even move Green again at the trade deadline or next offseason. If he does stay he is a 6-8" sg-sf that could help fill in untill Marvin returns.

Jimmer? Not yet. Too soon. But if the Jazz are sandbagging against a difficult season (see Malone & Jerry) then Jimmer could be a sand bag too. But wait until January when the Jazz are already out of the playoffs, make a small trade with Sacramento--Jimmer for Gerald Green and then hope that Jimmermania draws an extra 2,000 fans for about two weeks just so the team can make payroll.

Let Gerald Green Dunk.

I want nothing to do with Green's 3:1 t:a. He's a turnover machine. And can't shoot worth a damn. And doesn't get to the line.

No thanks.

Agree re: the Indiana pick. Firsts are generally sold for $3M. What the Pacers want is for that to be not in actual dollars, but in cap/tax relief. There are some intriguing players that will be available at #23. Green could be a throw-in at the deadline if needed. If not, he takes up very little space next season. Not like his presence is going to prohibit Utah from giving Favors and Hayward new deals, especially with Marvin coming off the books.

And if the Jazz combine their own two picks to move up, basically they move up for the price of absorbing Gerald Green's contract. Doesn't seem too bad.

I'll bet the Jazz would lay out a decent offer for Kidd-Gilchrist. He'd fit right in. Still needs to learn how to shoot though.

This reminds me of Eric Maynor to OKC....although it happened during the season

If the Jazz could do the Green & #23 pick combined with the Marion & #13 pick that is a lot of ammo to move up, or it could back fire like it did on HOU last year who ended up with to many picks.

Ya, totally backfired on HOU. They are screwed.

Gerald Green is owed $3.5/yr for two years, not one. One year's a no brainer, two sucks though.

LOL. What a train wreck. I bet MKG was pissed when they called his name.
