How do we know for sure that none of the c4 has the leadership capabilities to lead? 3 of them came off the bench all of last season. 2 of them were racking up a ton of DNPs early on. While I agree, it would be nice to draft a true and proven leader (Burke. because we saw him lead in college) I tend to wonder what type of leadership kanter, favors, and burks could provide if given starting roles and the keys to the car. Meaning, turning the responsibilities of the offense and defense over to them. Who knows if favors, kanter, burks aren't leaders? Burke would be questioned had mich gone out in the tourney early and then placed on the Jazz's bench for 3 years. Had favors led his team deep into the tourney maybe his leadership would have been better known?
See what I mean?
From personal experience, I know that when I have been given responsibility, I have become more vocal and more aggressive. How do we know that favors or kanter can't be VOCAL leaders? I mean, they couldn't exactly call out Millsap or Jefferson for lame efforts and defense when those 2 jokesters are starting over them, have control of the coach, and earning 10x more. The only people dumb enough to do that would be Kobe, MJ, Bird, or Karl Malone. Then fans would probably criticize them for overstepping their bounds and being jerks and for questioning Corbin by calling out the team's vets.
Favors, kanter, burks, and Hayward (to a degree) have been limited in their opportunity to be leaders. Not with vets like earl Watson, mo, Jefferson, Millsap, etc getting all the pt. we should have given the c4 at least all of last season to see what they really were. Yet another reason why it was utterly asinine to keep both Paul and al on this team. Here we are in 2013 and we still don't know if the c4 can lead or play. Sad sad sad...
