Cavs will listen to offers for the 1st pick

Hmm.. as much as I like Hayward, he's just not a natural born leader. Neither are Kanter or Favors.

I think that's why I'm drawn to guys like Schroeder, Jabari and Wiggins. They have leadership potential that could carry this team to Chips status. Burke has it too, I just question his athleticism at the next level.

We get Schroeder & Jabari, I think we'll be knocking on the door in 3 years time.

If we had Burke then we get Adams or Bazz @14, and Crabbe or Adetokoubo @21 and we start to have a good looking team.

U know how much I've been saying we're in need of a true locker room leader and floor coach. We currently don't have one.

Having said that, I don't know whether Schro is that guy.. Parker, maybe.. but he's a bit quiet. Wiggins is kind of a lone wolf type. I'd love to have them all.. but as leaders go, give me Burke.

give me Burke

He has that fire, passion, and vocal leadership that most players just don't possess. None of the core young 4 do.
Adding someone like Burke would give us an identity, and a leader. I'd love to get him, but no way does Cleveland accept my offer.
We'd have to give up next year's pick, + one of this years, and that just isn't worth it.

Trade for the 3rd pick.. Burke will be there.

Hayward is a nice glue guy.. every team needs one of them. He works hard at both ends of the floor, not a single egotistical bone in his body - we need him.

Yeah you were right...

Schroeder seems to have that inner confidence thing going ... similar feel to Rondo - they're not the most athletic, they don't have all the tools, but my God are they going to fight til the death with everything that they have. They don't care who you are. Like the Nike Hoop summit game - US team was LOADED - he didn't care. He played his game with that "inner confidence" That's the kind of leadership that I like - lead by example & a bit of that nastiness/never-say-die attitude.

Having the confidence to say "Yeah I'm gonna win this" - I don't get that from Hayward & Favors. I do get it from Kanter, which is why I was so high on him in '11.

4th or 5th true, but wouldn't the price be very very similar, especially in this draft?

I have no way of knowing.. but I would suspect there to be a drop in perceived value from 1 to 5. Now that may not mean that we could spend less because assets are somewhat limited, obvi.

How do we know for sure that none of the c4 has the leadership capabilities to lead? 3 of them came off the bench all of last season. 2 of them were racking up a ton of DNPs early on. While I agree, it would be nice to draft a true and proven leader (Burke. because we saw him lead in college) I tend to wonder what type of leadership kanter, favors, and burks could provide if given starting roles and the keys to the car. Meaning, turning the responsibilities of the offense and defense over to them. Who knows if favors, kanter, burks aren't leaders? Burke would be questioned had mich gone out in the tourney early and then placed on the Jazz's bench for 3 years. Had favors led his team deep into the tourney maybe his leadership would have been better known?

See what I mean?

From personal experience, I know that when I have been given responsibility, I have become more vocal and more aggressive. How do we know that favors or kanter can't be VOCAL leaders? I mean, they couldn't exactly call out Millsap or Jefferson for lame efforts and defense when those 2 jokesters are starting over them, have control of the coach, and earning 10x more. The only people dumb enough to do that would be Kobe, MJ, Bird, or Karl Malone. Then fans would probably criticize them for overstepping their bounds and being jerks and for questioning Corbin by calling out the team's vets.

Favors, kanter, burks, and Hayward (to a degree) have been limited in their opportunity to be leaders. Not with vets like earl Watson, mo, Jefferson, Millsap, etc getting all the pt. we should have given the c4 at least all of last season to see what they really were. Yet another reason why it was utterly asinine to keep both Paul and al on this team. Here we are in 2013 and we still don't know if the c4 can lead or play. Sad sad sad...

Burks and our second round pick for Schroeder.

One of our first round picks (14th pick) and a future unprotected first round pick plus Hayward for the first pick (McLemore).

Draft Gobert with the remaining 21st pick.

Jazz starting lineup:

Schroeder - FA
McLemore - Foye
Webster - Dunleavy
Kanter - Landry
Favors - Gobert

That would be a hell of a team.
