The biggest problem with Rondo is that he plays at his top level about 10% of the time. He basically tuned everything out for the last 6 weeks last season which helped cost the Celtics a chance at a top 2 seed.
Find Rondo somewhere that will get him to contribute on a more consistent level - this is the NBA and maybe 5% of the guys contribute 100% each night - but Rondo puts in top effort so rarely that it's beyond maddening. I don't know where the right spot is for him, but I really don't see him putting the effort in on a young team in Utah.

Gross. We`d still have loser Jefferson. Just getting rid of Jefferson for nothing is an upgrade for the team. More time for Favors/Kanter (who are really both centers), better overall ball movement - leading to betters overall shots, better defense by ALL means. And we`d still have 4 bigs, maybe get another. Harris + Jefferson + Miles and or draft pick.
The Celtics really need a good post-up scorer. And oh yeah, we`d still need a shooter.

Rep'ed! You other guys should be careful what you wish for.
There is a reason rebuilding teams like the Celtics and Jazz prefer to trade for draft picks rather than players.
I would much rather trade old players for young players or draft picks... so would the Celtics and the Jazz.
These trade proposals are interesting, but I hope if the Jazz start sweetening deals by adding draft picks, they are low risk/high reward players. Not sure I like the idea of trading draft picks for Rondo.

A late first rounder...Maybe an overpaid player with 1 year left and a young rookie/young player with upside.

He's on the last year of his contract, and while he's always in amazing shape, great leader/lockerroom player, and lightsout shooter, I don't see him resigning with you guys after this season...Probably with a contending team.

I'd take that deal yesterday. Adding Rondo makes us a contender to make the playoffs as a 7th oe 8th seat, other then pg shooting is our biggest need. If the Jazz get Allen as well, we might do some damage in the playoffs.
I think Allen could be persuaded to resign if he sees the potential of Favors, Kanter, Hayward, and Burks, and the one or two players we will draft in this years draft. This team as constructed isn't far from being a really good team.
