Chad Ford caught changing past draft boards to make himself look better

OK, but I doubt GMs read Chad Ford's mock and said to themselves "Oh we better pick that guy - he's so HOT RIGHT NOW!!!"

I really think it does. I remember listening to a Bruce Arians interview (Head Coach of Arizona Cardinals in NFL) and he says he reads every single mock draft because he cannot help it but states that they are all very wrong and stupid. I remember when they drafted Logan Thomas he said "we really liked him, we also heard some teams behind us also really liked him so we were happy we got him."

When I went on my school interviews every single one asked how many interviews I have had previously. Even if they deny they do and tell themselves they don't think it I guarantee you they think "oh, he must be a really good candidate, he was in high demand since he got a lot of interviews" or "we are his only interview? damn we need to look at his application again."

Have you ever had a friend tell you some girl is hot who you didn't think was that hot? Even if you deny it, it makes you reconsider whether she is hot or not.

I know this makes me seem shallow but I am the only one to admit it.

Now back to GM's in NBA. If a NBA team really likes a player and the media and everyone else agrees with them don't you think the GM would be just a little bit more reassured? Even if it is the tiniest amount, it counts. It may not play a large impact and flip GM's boards over but everybody is human and this is a part of human nature.

I'm sure GMs have their sources as to what other GMs think about a certain player, but I doubt they get that info from Ford.

Originally his parents wanted to name him Shady Fraud. But thought that was too obvious and thus decided with the more shady Chad Ford.

Not that this has anything to do with anything, but speaking of Chad Ford, I believe I've heard somewhere that he's LDS. True? Again, just curious and not implying anything.

I think I've heard that he's mormon too.

lol at them changing them back. It's crazy to me that he can go back and edit them in the first place. I doubt any major publication would allow their writers to have access to edit their old pieces...it'd be unfathonable to imagine that a NYtimes writer or whichever pub you like had the ability to go back and self-edit already published work. Is ESPN allowing him to do this? Shouldn't they have some like, checks and balances? I guess there's a small chance that Ford could have nothing to do with it and it's some other entity inside ESPN--but that's highly unlikely.

Really strange. Like, why? What's the point? It's a lot of risk (and he wasn't being very subtle) for no benefit. Nobody cares that he was wrong about a player in the 2011 draft. But now everyone thinks he's a weasel. He could've had that job for as long as he wanted it, and now he's probably praying that this doesn't blow up and turn into a huge thing. The rest of the media has been silent so far. He seems to be friends with all the guys who could call him out. I wonder if the silence holds? Haralabob (https://twitter.com/haralabob) has been the only major basketball voice I've seen to criticize him so far--and he's a gambler outside of the ESPN/journalist circle.

Simmons would usually be the guy to say something normally, but Ford goes on his podcast all the time, right? I've heard him on Locke's podcast too.

Anyways, moral of the story: you're on the internet; people can see you. Crazy that he or whoever thought they'd get away with it.

There has to be more to this. Fords mock drafts change a ton leading up to the draft. I bet there are a ton of different versions out there, and people are reading those. No way he just goes back and changes them. I could see espn doing it, but o highly doubt chad cares that much. He loves his day job at byu Hawaii, and just doesn't seem like the dude who would do that kind of thing.

Maybe. But why don't they just come out and say so. The dates on reddit make it seem like they were changed in retrospect. All Ford would have to do is come out and defend himself on twitter. Instead the drafts were "quietly" changed in the middle of the night? Silence is very suspicious in this case. It's early yet though. I hope there's an innocent explanation.

Is also the weekend, probably hear an explanation on Monday or something. Espn is basically like the tmz of sports though, so they could def be tricking people.
