Chances we are drafting for someone else?

Not sure this has been talked about much, but what are the chances we draft for another team in case we trade for a star?
 
Never know with Ainge. We could be starting next season with a young core around Lauri, Sex and Kessler, or we could have a superteam lol.
 
We have three picks. There's a non-zero chance we end up drafting for someone else.

Ainge would want to trade for a star. None are currently available and I doubt any will before the draft UNLESS something meteor drops before the draft or there's a random trade we're working on that not even Woj or Shams has sniffed. Beyond that, Utah may want to move up, but that would be a draft day dealio. So as of right now? Not likely.
 
There would be no reason to wait to announce the trade if we were. If we draft someone and no trade is reported immediately... like that night... you can rest easy that those guys are staying put. If we trade them later like Cleveland did with Ochai... its because the deal came up later... not because we drafted for someone else.

See but this is pretty flawed thinking. Things don't just happen like that when you get to this level. It's all very organized and planned out. Danny probably had his plan for this summer mapped out while he was playing for the Suns. Funny that you think he would draft someone to keep them but then trade them later.
