I think it's really stupid how much pandering is being done to "Punch a Nazi" thing. Violence is only going to escalate if the response to the "alt-right" movement is to just punch sense or fear into them. More deaths and more destruction. People just want to romanticize the idea of beating fear or sense into the other side until they agree with you (again, how has the worked in the Middle East?), that's probably not going to happen.

I think something that would be good is to outlaw any and all weaponry from protest and counter protest. Of course that goes against the 2nd amendment, so no chance of that happening either.

And ANTIFA is ****ing stupid and shouldn't be sympathized with or looked upon positively either. You can hate them and Nazi's. You don't have to pick a side, even though people want to make it seem like you have to pick one or the other.

So there are only 2 sides? You can 100% oppose Nazis, the alt right, and WS/WN and also oppose ANTFIFA and those whose answers to problems are violence.

You can't "stomp out" extreme racism. A great documentary to watch that should inform how people work to combat racism is "Accidental Courtesy".

I just don't understand the need to make this an extreme left vs extreme right thing. Nazis and the KKK marched on a town armed with torches and rifles and some people showed up to oppose them. One of those people got killed for it. Anyone who wants to "both sides" this issue can go **** themselves.

I may not agree with antifa's tactics all the time, but it's one hell of a false equivalency to say that they are also to blame for what happened this weekend.

When the streets of america start resembling those of 1930s Germany we're well past the point of laying blame on "both sides." Especially when our president makes clear which side he is on.

We have a president that gives cover to the worst of those that gathered at Charlottesville: the Klan, neo-nazis, neo-confederates, and white supremacists. For the somewhat less extreme, white nationalists and the alt-right, he provides jobs in the White House as his advisors. This is America under Trump. It’s shameful. Those that make excuses for him may as well be collaborators.
