Jazz sign Chris Johnson

Utah Jazz have reached agreement to sign Bucks free agent Chris Johnson for the remainder of the season, league sources tell RealGM.

I'd be surprised if it's not one of DL's patented multi-year deals. This is getting out of control.

Looks like he gets Ian Clark's spot.

The Jazz are giving out more multi-year deals to d-league players than Oprah used to give out cars to middle-age/class white moms.

edit: never mind, wrong Chris Johnson lol. Even draftexpress mixes their highlights up.

His draftexpress page lists him at 6'3.5 without shoes but his write-up says he is 6'11: "At 6’11” and just 190 pounds, Johnson has tremendous length, but is rail thin."

His wikipedia says he is 6'6.

We got the 6'6" dude from Dayton who played for us earlier this year. Here's his scouting report.

Some very interesting tweets. I am thinking the Jazz FO is up to something.
Basically the tweets are saying that a player cannot be traded for 90 days after being signed and that 90 days for the Cooley and Johnson contracts is up the day BEFORE the draft.

Another tweet says that the jazz will have 8 million in very tradable contracts (Cooley, Booker, Johnson and Cotton) that they can deal at the draft.

Plus 3 foreign players, multiple first rounders and 2nd rounders and Burke, Inges and Millsap.

Jazz have stacked their hand.

I'll be stunned if the Jazz fail to land a big trade, move up in the draft or make a big free agent splash.

Edit. Contracts are tradable before draft not day after.

Company media arm also speculating/hinting they will cash in assets for something big--darft or FA. There's smoke at least.

Another sign that this is a new Jazz FO. Still tight to the chest but not as tight.

Also could mean Hayward is out for the rest of the year.
