Anyway, like I said, Houston had to burn assets here as opposed to signing Chris outright. Sounds like you and Cy think he did this to save Houston money, despite the fact it burns assets. IMO, Paul did this for his own financial reasons, regardless of how risky it is.

Eligibility: only players entering their 8th or 9th seasons with their original franchise or if they were traded to existing team during first four years of career are eligible.

I dont think the solid was done for the sake of giving the Clippers a solid. It was a side effect of the solid done for the Rockets.

As much of a whiny, annoying idiot Chris Paul is, he's a competitor. He's going to make the Rockets better. Of course, on the flip side, with less depth, if Paul or Harden gets hurt for a stretch of time they're going to have a big problem.

Well obviously keeping him would be nice. But if you are waiting for a commitment, you'll never get it done. Just give up what you must (doesn't sound like much, Favors Hood 1st rounder?) convince Hayward to stay, and hope George loves it here. If he doesn't, don't take it personally.

This is exactly the attitude that I'd take, except that I'd prefer to keep Favors for one more year and substitute Burks and/or Diaw and more draft picks into his place. If Favors is healthy, there's no way the Jazz upgrade his spot at his current cost. Gobert, Favors, Hayward, PG13, Hill, Exum, Mitchell, Jingles, JJ, Bolomboy and Bradley. That's a solid team. Favors and JJ come off the books next year, but then you need to extend PG13 and Exum. Solve the hole at the 4 spot, and you're golden.

Thanks. I knew there was something about being traded in there, but obviously forgot it was limited.

Just the same, even if you want to believe this was done to help the Rockets financially, it hurts them in building the team. Anyway, I'm content to wait and see what happens with Paul's situation in the future. The idea that he sacrificed money to help Houston save money and in the process hurt the build of the team seems a little crazy to me.

P.S. Eric Pincus is the guy who broke Boozer to the Lakers way back during the best buy incident. I don't doubt his information, as I have nothing better to go on, but I have seen multiple articles like this that contradict each other on multiple things.(Can't remember if this one of them or not). This is why I kind of quit looking for info on the latest CBA, because Larry Coon is IMO the only really trustworthy source of stuff like this.
