What's new

Chris Paul

I kinda like Oubre for us. Gives us more length/defense. If it doesn't work he's out in a year.

Starting
Ricky
DM
Bojan
Oubre
Rudy

JC/Royce/Joe and a big off the bench. Spot minutes for a rookie or a g league guy.

Ricky might be more functional now that we have more space.

I'm definitely trying to snake an asset out of the deal and trying to dump Ed in there too.

I love Oubre for us as well but like I said there is no guarantee he re-signs here. He’s a UFA after this season.

Here is what the deal ends up being imo...

OKC sends CP3 and #24

Phoenix sends Oubre/Ricky/Jerome #10

If a 3rd team comes in there is some play there, but that will be the primary items involved in the deal.

They will get a pick and get off his deal... guaranteed.
I wouldn't take that bet. Look, there has been a lot of smoke and Piss Craul played very well last year. But... $41 million for a player who is 35 and $44 million for a player who will by 37 by the end of his contract? That's a hard pill to swallow. Now on top of that you have to give up a future first? Explain that to your fan base when he is in crutches mid season...

It's always a risky business but that risk is legit.

Cool... the Knicks are already offering cap savings. So that is who they are competing against. He was all-NBA and the suns haven't made the playoffs in 10 years. If he gets them there its a win for them and their fans.

If Phoenix gets this deal done they could be terrifying. Ayton, Bridges, Booker all take a step forward. They could also do the deal after using like 19M in cap space to sign Gallo, Wood, Ibaka, Joe Harris, Bertans etc.

Imagine CP, Booker, Bridges, Gallo or Wood, Ayton... obviously CP has to stay somewhat healthy and they are a surefire playoff team... maybe with homecourt advantage in the first round.

They should make that happen.

I think getting Ricky and oubre or Gordon for mike is a win. Any situation that brings us in a 2 for 1 like this or a deal with Philly is what we need cause we lack depth and this helps with that.

I have decided that I really like Oubre. I was always kinda meh but his shooting is slightly improved... he's scoring 18-19 pts a game with solid efficiency. His passing is the tool that keeps him from being an all star, but he's pretty damn solid and provides something on the wing we don't have.

We are a better team with Rubio and Oubre than we are with Conley.

And we save $3 million for next season which would allow us to bring back JC for less than $10 million AND use the full MLE staying under the luxury.

And we get to start Don at PG.

And I think Rubio and JC work together in the 2nd unit.

And we get another wing scoring option in Oubre.

Jazz would be absolutely fire with Oubre and Rubio right now rather than Conley.

Yeah, let's not trade our best plus/minus player for another free agent while making our competition substantially better. Do not like. If it doesn't help us beat the Lakers this year, no changes should be made.
