So the Sixers released him to bring on mentor Elton Brand. Really like him in the draft. Has physical tools and can shoot a little. Has high upside, but might be a low character guy. Kind of shocked they released him tbh... Might be telling.

It's time to release lil Sap and bring in guys that have a higher upside... I'd be curious to know if we are looking at him.

I like him, but I just dont see how we can develop anymore bigs with Lyles and Withey needing playing time.

I was thinking D League for him... let him practice with the guys occasionally. He is young and needs to gain strength. Put him on the Tibor plan. At very least this would make Homeytennis happy... he needs this.

If we picked him up his contract is also very good... minimal salaries for 4 years... each year is basically unguaranteed.

Im all for adding some already baked cakks 'n pies, but I don't want anymore flour. Christian Wood is flour.

What is millsap in this analogy?

I'm not against wood or anything, but if I had to bet, the jazz probably going to sign a bunch of 10 day contracts to dudes nobody thinks about.

I saw the thread title about a guy about whom I know nothing and just assumed homeytennis started it.

I'd pick him up in a heartbeat if someone with a higher priority doesn't first. He's extremely raw, but he has talent. Sign him and ship him up to Idaho for the rest of the season. If not him, then someone like him.

Jazz have Gobert, Favors, Withey, Booker, Pleiss and Lyles. Booker is gone next year and Withey might be playing his way into being the best asset for the Jazz this offseason. Can't have too many big men. One of the key reasons that he wasn't drafted was that he wasn't in great shape during the draft process. Send him to P3 and fix that. . . then let him use his athleticism to make the team (or not) next year.

Keep one of Johnson or Millsap (or drop both) and add a kid with potential to develop in the D-League. Jazz are still well under the salary cap, so there's really no loss if they have to eat a guaranteed Minimum contract later on due to positional issues down the stretch. They're only going to use 8/9 guys in the rotation once the playoffs start.

They should be turning over stones at the bottom of the roster to try to find someone special. Maybe that's Wood. . . Maybe not? I'd probably take a look at him though.
