Christie Reconsiders '12 GOP Run

Of course you wouldn't.

We could show a picture of him murdering his own mom and it wouldn't affect you. You already have your mind made up. And given your past ah-hem, right wing dribble*, I'd expect nothing less.

It's almost like being insulted by a first grader... almost.

You and paranoia are pretty good friends I see. I said nothing disdainful about teachers at all. My daughters teacher is a very nice guy. I like him a lot and think he does a great job and I think he deserves a raise. I simply pointed out that he has a boat and some other toys and doesn't work much in the summer time. This is an anecdotal example of the way some teachers get by. His wife is a teacher too, part-time kindergarten, by the way. He is smart with his money. Tough concept I know. But you simply ignored my point, that this continual portrayal of teachers as poverty-stricken street-people is ridiculous.

cool story dude!

But you avoided every single point made.

purely anecdotal evidence doesn't help your case. And again, no other profession comes under such scrutiny. No one else cares who has boats. But if a teacher has one, all of a sudden there's pause.

You have no clue what he did before. You have no clue what his wife did before. You have no idea what family contributions they've received/currently receive. You have no idea what other outside contributors they might have.

Lets rely on the statistical evidence.

https://teacherportal.com/salary/Utah-teacher-salary

Starting salary: $26k
Avg Salary: $40k

Ranks 5th worst in the country. Yet, we have soooooooo many kids here. Aren't they the "treasures of heaven?"

So lets compare apples to somewhat similar apples. In your post, you said that you supported your family with 60k. Imagine doing that with 1/3 of your salary gone. Oh and working with 30 kids in your classroom (one of the highest student to teacher ratios in the nation), without AC (many schools in SL districts don't have AC), paying for materials out of your own pocket, and being blamed for every single ill in society.

:)

You might have a different outlook. You cannot lie and say that raising your family with 1/3 of your salary not existing wouldn't have had a serious effect on you.

That's the reality that most teachers in Utah have to deal with. Raising families, just like you, but with 20k less. And probably, a whole lot more crap to deal with.

Good point!

But it still doesn't change the fact that you already have your mind made up about Christie.... And mostly because you're anti-demos. Your record speaks for itself.

The pro-corporation, birther, pro-tax cuts, anti-union march continues in the hearts of your ilk.

Unfortunately, it's too easy to blame unions for NJ's problems. It's a lot easier than to take a critical look at the distribution of wealth, the corporations, and tax structure that has placed so many states into such predicaments.
It's too easy to just say, "Americans need to start living within their means" than to actually place the blame where it belongs.

1. Bush tax cuts haven't been effective at job creation.
2. Class warfare has been waged for decades. But foxnews won't tell you, that the rich have been the ones waging it against the middle-class.
3. Wars. No matter what you think about them, the question should have been raised 10 years ago on how we would pay for them.
4. Deregulation from the banking system to health care system has been disastrous. Deregulation leads to further ripping off... Wall street, ripped us all off for billions and billions of dollars. the gas spikes in 07-08? Complete and utter nonsense. Speculators fired the prices up when demand had decreased, supply had increased, and yet prices doubled at the pump.

Health care? Ridiculous how we're still being ripped off.

5. Failing to protect our own middle-class has put us in the sad position that we are now in.

But it's too easy to get fired up with one-liners from guys like Christie and blame everything on unions and teachers and poor people and unemployed people and old people.

Has a sitting President ever died of natural causes while in office? I'm pretty certain the answer is no but if Christie was elected, he'd give that honor a run for the money.

"There's Taylor, there's Tyler, there's Fillmore and there's Hays
There's William Henry Harrison
'I died in 30 days!' "

Didn't want to start a new thread for this, and didn't know where else to put it;
