I would take a used condom for Raja Bell, CJ is worth the price of option. He and Hayward should probably be our starters next year.

I agree with them being the starters next year. While a young high draft pick is being brought along or if we don't draft a wing until we get a better player at SG/SF. Right now CJ is the best option.

CJ Miles went 0 for 7 in the first half. He is shooting below 35% since he scored 40 pts. His shooting percentages for the season are very close to his career numbers and they aren’t good enough. CJ is shooting 41% from the field and 32% from three point range. That is not good enough to be a rotation wing player in the NBA. This was the year with increased time that many of us thought he could take the jump to become a better shooter. Then when it didn’t happen in the early part of the year I thought it might happen when he became a starter. As a starter he is averaging 18 pts but he is shooting 43% and 30% from three, so that just means he uses a ton of inefficient possessions and that is not going to help you win. A real evaluation is going to have to be made on whether or not there is improvement in CJ’s shooting, his current level won’t cut it.

But a valid one, to which you have no valid response. I am no CJ homer, and I am well aware of his numerous shortcomings (e.g. doesn't get to the FT line enough, doesn't rebound enough for a player of his size and altheticism, ditto for his steal numbers, not a good passer, defence as inconsistent as his offence), but the fact is, he is a better option in the starting lineup than Bell. That's just a sad reflection of the quality of the current team, it's no endorsement of CJ.

It depends on what you are arguing. Sure he is better than Bell. But neither of them are the answer for the future, so why even consider either of them when we have other options. Hayward should get the time more than either of the other 2. That is where the argument breaks down. Arguing Bell and CJ as far as the starter goes is like arguing whether Bill Maher or Rush Limbaugh would make a better president. Neither of them should ever be in that position, and neither should CJ or Bell.

But I do agree with your overall assessment. I just think it is time to stop giving the PT to someone who should not be here next season (Bell and CJ).

Rainhut said bonkers was CJ miles a long time ago. I'm sure now that he was right.

Hayward should get the time more than either of the other 2.

I would definitely want Hayward starting in front of CJ and getting plenty of PT, even more so at this point of the season, but with AK injured Hayward should start at SF, which means the choice at SG is CJ or Bell. Hmmm, check that, I forgot we added Kyle Weaver, maybe put him ahead of CJ, let him audition for the job next season.
