Coal Aldrich

Why do people bring up the without shoes measurment?

Because its his real height? He either has some ridiculous made custom shoe or platforms in there. Wearing a shoe like that probably hurt his other athletic tests, as he couldnt even out jump the 300 lbs Cousins. Otherwise we would be seeing more players doing it.

Aldrich is even shorter than I thought - 6'9" without shoes.

I really think Aldrich is going to get overwhealmed in The NBA his rookie year - in time he may be able to change his game around a little bit and perhaps have a Nick Collison type career; but I think you can forget about him being a defensive force or a lane clogger in this league.

candrew completely sober and spot on once again.

I should start charging to read to my posts.

I probably would've picked him there. Context matters, of course (the Jazz desperately needed a center of any type, but had been hemorrhaging points at the rim for years and the need for a center that could protect the rim was arguably the Jazz's biggest shortcoming as a team).

Funny how GVC has called so many people stupid, yet he probably has more stupid posts than anyone when looking back on it.

I guess if you spout off a bunch of irrelevant stats and insult people, then people will think you are smart. Well, at least some people were fooled into believing it.

which makes sense. I woulda probably clamoured for Whiteside, Davis, Aldrich, and Sanders in hindsight. I never really followed this draft closely.

I was skeptical of all of those other players (wasn't sure if Sanders would be able to guard the post or score, just didn't think Whiteside had what it took to make the jump, Davis never really impressed me). Team need, process of elimination, and the fact that I didn't love anyone else at 9 led me to Aldrich.

But this is all an exercise in who gives a ****.

You and many on this board.

Not me... but... you know....

Whiteside was my dude (I forgot he was in that draft though) and I also was cool with aldrich.

Ed Davis wouldn't have pissed me off either. I just remember wanting a big guy and being pissed when we took Hayward.

Hayward is a bawse now

I don't follow college hoops at all, but I really caused the ESPN draft machine do burn smoke. My conclusion was that I wanted Davis, and I cursed for 15 minutes when we took Hayward. I came around pretty quick, since I didn't know **** to begin with.
