At some point Cody is going to have a game where he hits three 3s in a game and I want to see if that can give him a confidence boost where his game opens up a bit.

Hardy needs to tell him this is just the Vegas Summer League and watch him go off.
The main reason for the emergence of the new playable Cody is that the game slowed down for him. He wasn't really slow and unathletic before: he was just trying to process what he should do,. And now all of a sudden Cody is explosive and twitchy in his drives and quick passes.
Explosive is going a bit too far, but he does make some good moves out there. Last game he had a baseline drive&dunk where he got his defender to bite on his shot fake and that whole sequence was very sharp and well executed by him. High quality NBA play, even if the degree of difficulty wasnt high.

I hope so. Against the Spurs and Wolves, there wasn’t much room for his slashing game, so he spent a lot of time drifting around the corners without much purpose. Playing with Key and Lauri opens up his game, but he definitely needs more tools to be impactful.
His baseline movements are very slow, but he has moments of being extremely fast twitched. That baseline dunk you referenced was eye opening.

at the very least it looks like williams will be a plus defender (if he's not already), will run the floor and make cuts that lead to easy layups and dunks. ultimately he will need to be able to stand at the three point line and knock down catch and shoot threes, but it's not hard to see how he can become a very nice rotation piece for a long time - if the shooting comes around.
All his slow movements are related to indecision and lack of confidence. He still has some record scratch moments, but far less the last season. He could barely even complete a gather to attempt a layup last year and now he is able to do it sometimes.
